Having lived this long, what have I
actually accomplished?

There isn't a single dream that has come true.

Looking back on this and that,
I haven't done anything significant,
or so it seems to me.

On the contrary,
I messed that up,
and I said this.

I am a Way-Practitioner. Through daily life, I have gained awareness and understanding, becoming free and at ease.

Stories and poems come to me. My old acquaintance, Yo Sakukawa, drew pictures of Shiba Inu for me.

If even one person sees these and feels healed, I would be happy for the connection.

Now, let's begin—

One day, an elderly cram school teacher arrived at work and was checking the booth number for his individual tutoring session.

Just then, a fellow teacher and a female university student working as administrative staff, who were right behind him, began to chat.

"It's been a while. Job hunting must be tough this time of year. Have you decided on anything yet?"

"I took the teacher certification exam the other day."
"So you're going to be a teacher. How did it go?"
"Yes. I think it went well."
"Oh, you know, being a teacher is..."

The fellow teacher began to speak, reflecting deeply on his long experience of teaching students as his livelihood.

The female student seemed to be listening intently, as becoming an elementary school teacher was her dream job.

Even though he didn't intend to listen, their conversation slipped into his ears. Suddenly, a murky feeling welled up inside him.

"This guy is so outdated. These days, with just one |tablet| (iPad), AI can teach you everything you need to learn. We don't need |teachers| anymore."

"The working population is shrinking anyway, so wouldn't it be better to get rid of schools and have elementary school kids do work experience instead?"

"Kids are happy with pocket money, and it would solve the labor shortage. High schools and universities just cram in things that are |unnecessary| for survival."

"You don't need to make your dream job come true. Dreams are things you see while you're sleeping. They aren't meant to be seen while you're awake. You'll lose sight of yourself."

Living to make your dreams come true
I wonder how many people are actually doing that

It might be fine when you're young
but as the years go by, dreams wither
and before you know it, they tear apart

There is no such thing as a dream that comes true easily
that wouldn't be called a dream anymore

When I was chasing my dreams
my daily life looked faded──

Ah, I see...

I am right here now
making my dream come true!

Doing this, saying that
a life full of regrets
is the very dream I wanted to fulfill

Waking up, walking around, resting, eating, and relieving myself
daily life is a shining miracle of |divine work|

Ah, this is just fine as it is...

I will live as myself
until the |day| I wake up from this dream
