Self-Introduction

Hello,
everyone.

I'm Sorakumo.

Now that I'm starting a note, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself!

First, about the things I like.
My number one favorite is Western movies!
I especially love romantic and slice-of-life films. For example...

"The Notebook"
"About Time"
"As Good as It Gets"
and so on... They might all be mainstream, but that's what makes them good. That's exactly why I love them!

I also love the American sitcom "Friends," and I've watched it so many times that I've memorized the lines, almost like listening to music.
Is there anyone here who knows it??

When I watch movies or dramas, I feel excited, or perhaps a bit whimsical, and my sense of happiness increases.
Since I started watching a lot of movies, I feel like I spend more time thinking about the human heart—how people think, or the different ways emotions are expressed—and it's no exaggeration to say that movies and dramas have helped shape a part of my personality today.

As for Japanese dramas I'm currently into, there are shows like the ones broadcast on NHK:
"Danchi no Futari"
"Hirayasumi"
"Shiawase wa Tabete Nete Mate"
and so on.
These also depict things that lurk in everyday life—the kind of relatable moments that make you think, "Oh, that's so true." They are down-to-earth dramas that make me feel calm while watching them.🍃

When I write about the things I like, my passion overflows and I end up writing so much.

Anyway.

Next, about what I studied at university.
As I wrote in my previous post, I was in the Faculty of Psychology.
In my seminar, I majored in social psychology, and I wrote my thesis on HSP.
HSP
I'm sure this is a term many of you have heard or seen online.
It refers to people who are more sensitive and delicate than others. (That's a very rough explanation, though...)
There are many situations where I feel like I am an HSP myself, so I conducted research for a year based on the hypothesis that if people, including myself, could feel more positive emotions, our sense of happiness would increase even further.
In the end, I didn't get the results I had hoped for from a single year of research as an undergraduate student, but it was a very meaningful research life where I was able to empathize with my own personality and with other HSP people like me.
I think I'll continue to touch on this in my notes.

Also, at university, I took a course called the Interpretation and Translation Program.
I've always liked English, and after I started watching Western movies, the feeling that I might want to become a translator began to sprout. (I'm not good at speaking, so I felt that being an interpreter didn't suit me.)

Actually taking the class, I learned the principles and rules of translators, and how to change translations depending on the target audience—things you can't learn in regular English classes—and I thought this could be a rewarding job for me.
However, it's not an easy job where you can earn enough to live on right away, so I thought it might be a good idea to work at a regular company for now and aim for the path of a translator little by little, which brings me to where I am today.
I think I might even post some translations I've tried on my note as well (n*´ω`*n)

Well then.
I've rambled on for so long, even though I've only touched on two topics.

I'll end it here for now!
Thank you!
