[Cat Stories] A Story About My Older Brother's Scent

Good evening. This is Shusho.

I apologize for the clutter on the table.
Do you also put your bags on the table when you get home?
I'm the type who puts them there right away.
I try not to leave things on the floor because the cats will rummage through them.

My partner, Wai-san, is the type who doesn't even put things on the table,
and gets annoyed if things are cluttered.
He bought me two kitchen wagons with casters
so that I could store things away from the table.
I can really feel Wai-san's determination to keep the table clear, even if it means adding more wagons,
but when he's not around, this is how it is.
Besides, the cats can climb on it as much as they want.

Haru-kun, the brown and white cat, doesn't usually care about scents.
He's a cat who seems to have left his wild instincts somewhere,
but on this day, he suddenly became interested in the rear end of his older brother, the black cat Tak-kun.

On the other hand, Tak-kun is abnormally sensitive to scents
and is always licking Haru-kun.
If he goes to the vet, or I take him to my workplace,
or conversely, if Haru-kun goes out,
he makes such a huge fuss,
hissing and getting angry with great intensity, saying, "You smell like a stranger!! You stink!! Who are you!!"
But strangely, after three days, perhaps because he smells like our home again,
he returns to being a normal, good older brother and sleeps with him.
Three days seems to be a milestone for him.

It seems the brother's rear end he hadn't smelled in a while was stinky.

Tak-kun doesn't like having his scent checked,
but Haru-kun, who is always spoiled,
doesn't care about that at all.

He sniffed without hesitation, and it stank,
and he was scolded by his older brother
like a raging fire,
so it seems nothing good came of it.
I haven't seen Haru-kun sniffing his rear end since that day.

Well, it would be a problem if he got addicted to the smell of Tak-kun's rear end...
So, I'll consider this a good thing.
Please resolve things between brothers
among yourselves.
