Late one night, when I got up to use the bathroom, I felt a sharp prick.

My heel hurts.
It feels kind of prickly.
When it comes to pain you can tolerate, the best thing to do is go to sleep.
I'm sure it won't hurt when I wake up!

I crawled into the futon where my cat was sleeping, and when I woke up after going back to sleep,
a sharp, unpleasant pain shot through me.

Hmm? It still hurts. I wonder what it is. I'll probably forget about it once I get up and do something.

It's not an intense pain.
It's a dull, throbbing pain that's gradually getting worse.
Wait, can a heel really hurt this much?
Maybe I should ask someone for advice.
Oh, that's right, I know a former dermatology nurse. I'll try sending her a LINE message.

was perfectly embedded at a right angle into my heel.
I mean, isn't the heel one of the tougher parts of human skin?
How did it manage to break through and get stuck like that?
