[April 7th] A story about not waking up the cat

Is your cat sleeping?
I am Shusho.

The magazine where I collect the articles about cats that I write every Sunday
is titled "It's hard because the cat won't go to sleep."

This title is based on a true story.

My partner, Wai-san, and I are in a long-distance relationship.

When he comes to my house, the black cat, Tak-kun, won't sleep.
That is the cry from Wai-san's heart that became the title.

There are many cases where I am working even when Wai-san is at my house,
and during that time, Wai-san is working remotely,
or doing various other things, but at those times,

He complains that he is being subjected to subtle attacks like that from Tak-kun.

To get Tak-kun to sleep,cuddle-napping is necessary.

The moment he starts to drift off is the most crucial part.

When I finally get him to doze off and he enters a deep sleep,
if I gently place him into his favorite cardboard box that pears came in,
he will fall right asleep.

If I fail,
I repeat the mysterious loop of holding him and patting his bottom -> dozing off -> pear box.
Moreover, every time I fail, the probability of him falling asleep drops significantly.

In other words, it means Wai-san can't get any work done at all.

I've been putting him to sleep since he was a kitten,
so I'm fine with that, but anyway, Wai-san is in the
clumsypitiful state of being unable to put him to sleep.

However!!
Recently, even though Wai-san
cannot put the cat to sleep himself,

"Taku, wake up."

And so, I keep repeating the brutal act of waking him up with a phone call.

My Takkun is sensitive to the phone and wakes up immediately to meow and talk on the line.
Isn't he cute? (Sudden outburst of being a doting parent)

Taking advantage of that habit, he is
waking up the cat that I had gone to the trouble of putting to sleep.

Unforgivable.

And so, the battle between Takkun and me begins again.

Wai-san finds it amusing and wakes Takkun up.

Grrr.
Just you wait...

I will repay this debt during the Obon holiday when we meet again!!

I think I'll whisper into Takkun's ear night after night, “Wai-san will play with you when he comes over.” He should definitely be brainwashed by the summer.

You can stay up until Takkun is satisfied.
It's okay.
Wai-san says they will keep you company.

Yeah. Let's go with that plan.

You shall fully experience the terror of a cat that does not take a nap.
