I visited the cookie shop Kuru♪
Hello! Therapy Room RurudoI'm IZUMI from. I currently run a women-only oil massage salon (Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage) from my home. Since my home salon isn't quite enough yet, I'm also working part-time at another shop (also a women-only oil massage salon) 2-3 days a week, juggling both jobs and taking things at a relaxed pace. I usually work as a massage therapist, but since June 2024, I have been studying under
counselor Hiroyuki Nemoto, who is booked out for 3 months in advancecounselor Hiroyuki Nemoto and have become a 9th-generation apprentice. Yesterday, I visited
my fellow apprentice Nao-san's shop, Cookie Shop Kuru!

Kitamoto Station, where I got off for the first time
Yesterday, when I was transferring at Shinjuku to go to a gym in Ikebukuro. I usually take the Saikyo Line because I board the train that comes to platforms 3 and 4, but for a change, the Shonan-Shinjuku Line arrived. Moreover, it was a Kagohara-bound train, which doesn't run very often. Looking at the station map inside the train, I realized that if I just stayed on this, I could get to Kitamoto. I had previously heard from Nao-san that her shop serves shaved ice only during the summer. I thought, 'I have to go!' and so I did. Thanks to my previous job in real estate, I've visited many towns, but this was my first time in Kitamoto! I get so excited about towns I've never been to. I didn't know the scenery from the train window past Omiya, so I traveled with a sense of excitement.
GO to the shop
I stepped off at Kitamoto for the first time. It only takes a little over 30 minutes from Ikebukuro. It's surprisingly close. I secretly did a gratitude exercise in my heart for the Shonan-Shinjuku Line, which carried me so quickly and reasonably, and gave me a sense of traveling. Thank you, thank you. I walked from the station while looking at Google Maps. It's very close, just a 3-minute walk from the station! I entered the shop with a pounding heart. Wow, it's cute! It's incredibly stylish! It's stylish, but the interior has a gentle warmth. It's Nao-san's personality, a gentle atmosphere. The cookies Nao-san makes are also gentle on the body. She uses carefully selected ingredients! It was my first time seeing cookies made with beet sugar! (I had them for the first time during our last apprentice lecture♪)

I can't decide which flavor to get♪
At the register, the staff showed me a photo of the shaved ice and explained it to me. I was really torn between the tea and rum raisin, or the coffee and chocolate cheese cream (lol). The mango and coconut meringue was also very tempting! Oh my, she really understands the combinations that girls love. As expected of Nao-san! I chose the coffee based on my mood at the time. But this was created as a product after trial and error, eating prototypes and making improvements, right? That's amazing. I was thinking of buying cookies later, and while I was looking at the cookies and scones, Nao-san noticed and came out from the kitchen to talk to me. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule!! I'm so happy! She introduced me to the staff, saying, 'This is my fellow apprentice from the lecture.' I was moved, thinking, 'Oh! The staff also knows about the apprentice lecture.'

Having my first shaved ice of the year♪
The shop has products on the first floor, and the eat-in area is on the second floor. I went up the stairs, sat at the counter table, and handed my order sheet to the staff on the second floor. Now, I'm going to pamper my body, which is feeling a bit worn out from the summer heat! I took a bite, and mmm! It's delicious♪ This is so good! The coffee syrup goes perfectly with the mellow chocolate cheese cream inside! The crispy-fluffy texture of the ice, the mellow chocolate cheese, and the crunchy texture (I think it was cocoa crumble, I'll check Instagram to review) are an exquisite marriage in my mouth. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore, but please try it once. Seeing is believing, or rather, eating is believing. It's definitely delicious! Texture is important, isn't it? Crispy-fluffy, and there's crunch inside the meltiness! I'm happy when there's this crunch. The crunch does a great job until the very end, so you don't get tired of it, and you end up eating it all at once! No, I'm not good at food reviews... Anyway. I really want you to feel these 'pleasant sensations' like 'texture,' 'delicious,' 'sweet,' and 'cute~'! Especially for those who tend to be overly analytical, please try to be conscious of things that please your
pleasant sensations'. Especially for those who tend to be overly analytical, please try to be conscious of things that please your 'five senses'. It's really important. Especially for those who are hard on themselves! When was the last time you felt, 'Ah, that feels good,' 'That's delicious,' or 'Ah, I'm happy'? Anything is fine. Going to a hot spring, going to eat something delicious, going for a massage... Please be conscious of pleasing yourself and relaxing. I was so absorbed in eating the shaved ice that I finished it in less than 20 minutes. While I was eating, customers were coming and going in the second-floor eat-in area♪
To buy cookies
I went down from the second floor to the first floor and bought some cookies. The staff kindly offered, 'Shall I call Nao-san?' So kind, thank you. I was moved again. In this heat, the kitchen is even hotter because she's baking cookies in the oven. Even in such difficult conditions, Nao-san is working happily and energetically with her staff. It's wonderful! (For some reason, I was reminded of a program that sometimes plays on the train TV, where children secretly peek at their moms and dads at work.) I visited suddenly this time, but I think it's better to
make a reservation for a seat. My first shaved ice of the year became a wonderful memory! I will give the cookies I bought to a friend I'm meeting next week. Thank you for the meal♪
