Thoughts on the INFJ inferior function Se
I used to think the inferior function was the one I was worst at, but my interpretation has changed.
My dominant functions can sometimes be blind and run wild.
Rather than being inferior, perhaps the inferior function is just underdeveloped, acting as a supportive force that gently wraps around me and balances me out.
Of the 16 functions, the axis that forms the INFJ is Ni-Fe-Ti-Se.
Even though Se is my inferior function, it is an essential presence in the axis that shapes who I am.
When I am in an Ni-Ti loop, it acts as a source of energy for my own world when I shut out the outside world due to mental and physical exhaustion. However, at times, it can send my consciousness flying into a vast universe, making me think about universality and consistency from a distant place, and I can get trapped in a vortex of thought, locking myself in a shell and causing myself suffering.
Se brings me the sensation of being wrapped in beautiful scenery, soul-cleansing music, words, and moments of being moved. In coordination with Fe, it feels like being enveloped in a warm world. It is a presence that brings warm harmony to my inner vortex.
Breathing in the beautiful, clear air of the outside world, experiencing small, trivial events that tickle my sense of excitement and adventure, and seeing and being surrounded by beautiful things that move my heart.
These things are so important.
Connecting with the outside world and finding balance in this way purifies my hardened heart.
Ni-Ti is important to me. It is the very essence that forms my dreams, hopes, and myself. I am happy to have discovered a function within myself that supports this.
