Now, this time I will write aboutsavings accounts in the children's names✒
There was news about interest rate hikes, wasn't there◎
For your reference, I'll post the Japan Post Bank version that is available all over the country
I wrote abouthow I let the children use their moneyhere
Also, there are
two types of accountsin the children's names that I manage
Ⓐ One typeis the one where thebalance is disclosed to the children themselvesas mentioned later
(I split the lump sum into several fixed-term deposits, keep the amount expected to be used in a regular savings account, and withdraw and hand it over when requested)
Ⓑ The other type is a
gift-purpose accountthat I had them create, which I have been transferring deposits into every year from my income (experiencing the difference from KidZania)
→ Only my husband knows about this account; the children are unaware
(my husband only knows the account exists lol
how much I depositIbrag aboutbut he doesn't know what the current balance is)Updated 2024/09/20; I also put the idle funds here into fixed-term deposits
I regretted later that I should have created this (Ⓑ) for each child when they started school, sweat
(I created them for all three when the youngest was in the middle of 2nd grade, so it's really half-baked, bitter smile)
The reason is that we have different education paths (public/private) for them, so I wanted to make it easy to figure out from scratch how much was spent on each of them
So, rather than a simple gift, it is mainly an account fortuition and
lessonswithdrawals.
(For some expenses like cram school where credit card payments are accepted, I choose that option, so those are paid separately and are not deducted from the children's account balances.
Therefore, the only thing I can track completely is
tuition fees
.)
The child in public school is effectively wealthy since their balance hasn't decreased (lol).
Maybe their chances for things like study abroad will go up!?
Anyway, what I really wanted to write about this time
starts here! Too late!!
A story about A
Iopened accounts
for each of them right after they were born.
I created accounts to depositbirth giftsthey received, money from New Year's gifts from when they were little until now and the remaining balance,
and the
Tokyo 018 Supportandthe
child allowancestarting from next month, and I have been putting lump sums into fixed-term deposits at domestic financial institutions.
Of course,in each of their names, right?
(It would be higher interest if I combined them into my own name, but I wouldn't know whose money is whose, so I intentionally keep them separate.)
The eldest childreceived the most gift money, so naturally, they are the wealthiest of the three (lol).
The younger two have about the same amount www
Money spent on things broken by mischief is withdrawn after notifying the person and getting their consent.

↑ Only a 'like' 👍 mark arrived... 😏
If you leave them alone, they stay at a low interest rate, so if you have forgotten, please
rearrange your fixed-term depositsbecause the interest rates have gone up!
