I Hate Cooking!!!
Cooking is the thing I hate most among all household chores.
When I was little, I liked helping out and doing cooking practice at school, but for some reason, I hate it now.
Fortunately, my husband loves to cook and makes almost everything, so I rarely have to cook.
Even though I'm the one on parental leave and should really be doing it.
(Sorry, husband)
When I lived alone, I didn't really cook in the sense of preparing meals; I just made hot pot by cutting and boiling things, made salads by just cutting vegetables, or otherwise bought food at the supermarket or ate out.
So, I thought I didn't have to force myself to do cooking that I hated.
When I did cook properly, it was usually with the boyfriend I was dating at the time, and for some reason, all the boyfriends I've had were people who could cook.
Because of that, I ended up cooking even less.
One day, I served a meal to my boyfriend.
Mapo tofu.
He said it tasted bad and wouldn't eat it.
It might not have been terrible, but it wasn't good.
I realized once again that I am truly bad at cooking.
I even thought that I should stop cooking for people from then on.
That said, it didn't become a trauma for me.
And currently, I am cooking more than I ever have in my life.
Even saying that, it's only about once a week.
I absolutely cannot make anything without looking at a recipe.
If I make it randomly, it doesn't taste good.
Also, my recent problem is that I don't know what to make with what's left in the fridge.
I can only think of miso soup or stir-fried vegetables.
That said, I'm not able to shop in a planned way either.
Since what I want to eat changes depending on the day, I don't intend to make meals in advance.
My 7-month-old baby hardly eats the baby food I make either.
Since they would gobble up the baby food my mother made, I sometimes wonder, 'Is it just not tasty?'
My husband's cooking is better than what I make, so I leave it to him.
And I believe that love has nothing to do with cooking.
Even if there is love, bad food is bad food!
So, even if I have the desire to want to cook for someone, feelings alone don't make it work, so I'm not very motivated.
Occasionally, very occasionally, if there is an easy and delicious-looking recipe on YouTube, I will try making it.
The chicken breast ham I made this morning was incredibly delicious.
Thank you, Ryuji-san.
In this way, even though I hate cooking, I am overcoming it little by little.
