COEDA HOUSE Atami: A Stunning Cafe Found in Atami

Atami is famous as a popular hot spring tourist destination.
I visited COEDA HOUSE, a cafe located within ACAO FOREST, which is also known as a tourist spot.

It is a cafe with a wonderful panoramic view.

First, I will briefly introduce ACAO FOREST.

ACAO FOREST is a resort park located about 15 minutes by car from Atami Station.
It consists of 13 unique theme gardens spread across a vast 200,000-tsubo hilly area.

In addition to being able to see seasonal flowers and plants within the gardens, the panoramic view of Sagami Bay and the Soga Sengen Shrine from within the gardens are also popular.

A popular cafe located within ACAO FOREST is
COEDA HOUSE.

It is entirely glass-walled with a superb location. The weather was nice on the day I went, so the sense of openness was outstanding.

Inside the cafe

The interior, made by stacking small pieces of wood, is wonderful, and just being there makes you feel good.
I learned later that the design was handled by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan's leading architects.

What I ordered today was

Botanical China Blue
ATAMI Daidai (Bitter Orange) Cheesecake

The drinks menu includes not only coffee and juice, but also smoothies and tropical drinks that look great.
The Botanical China Blue contains grapefruit and lychee syrup, making it perfect for a hot day.

The cheesecake is a stick shape that also looks good.
It seems to be popular at the cafe, and they had matcha, chocolate, strawberry, and marble flavors, but
among them, I chose the cheesecake made with Atami's specialty, the daidai (bitter orange).
It was refreshing and delicious too 😋

After strolling through the vast gardens, you can relax at a cafe with a great view.

It was a wonderful time.
