It seems like Influenza B is going around right now.
My son caught Influenza A just before the end of the year,
and he had a high fever for a long time. 🤒

My son, who had been sleeping because he felt so unwell, suddenly woke up and started spouting verbal abuse out of nowhere. 😳
And in English, too...

I was completely stunned...
Huh? What?...
I had no idea what was going on.

Then he started running around as if he were terrified of something.
Even when I tried to calm him down, he couldn't hear me.
It was scary, what should I do? I was already panicking.

The verbal abuse and running around lasted for about 10 minutes.
Finally, he said, 'Mom, hide with me!' so I hid under the futon with him, and after a while, he said, 'There's nothing there anymore!' and went back to sleep.
I didn't take him to the hospital after that.

The falling accidents from balconies you often see on the news.
I can see how that could happen now.
Auditory and visual hallucinations.
He just suddenly started running. If the balcony door had been unlocked, I might not have been able to stop him.
We had double-paned windows, so I managed to prevent it by chance.
If he had been in a bunk bed, he might have fallen and gotten hurt.

It was a truly terrifying experience.

When I asked him about it later, he said a stranger told him, 'Come here, I'll give you some candy!' When I asked him a few days later, he didn't remember it at all.

When your child has a high fever, please stay close and watch them!
