[Production Notes] Part 7: Don't produce 40 'different people'. The secrets of 'Master Images' and 'Regeneration' to tame AI personality

Stamp production is finally in the home stretch. The goal is the completion of a '40-piece set', which is the largest volume for LINE stamps.

However, as the number increases, a serious problem has come to light. It is the issue of character inconsistency: 'Isn't this pug a different person (different dog) from the last one?'

1. The wall of 40: AI is too 'free'

AI is excellent, but if left alone, it is extremely free-spirited. Even if you use the same prompt, sometimes it's a grumpy pug with many wrinkles, other times it's a puppy-like one with big, round eyes... If the face is different for every single one when you line up 40, it is no longer a 'character'. Protecting that 'consistent cuteness' modeled after my Mocha for all 40 pieces was the biggest hurdle.

2. Solution: Define an immovable 'Master Image'

That is why I introduced the 'creation of a master image' as a compass for production.

Before blindly starting to make 40, I first perfected one piece that said, 'This is the correct answer for my home's stamps!' By always presenting this 'correct answer' to the AI and defining it as a standard (master), I contained the AI's confusion.

3. 'Inspection' and 'Regeneration' instructions that do not overlook discomfort

The check using 'voice input' introduced in Part 6. If I feel even a little bit that the coat color is different from the master, I immediately give the AI this instruction.

With these words, the AI objectively reviews the picture it drew and begins to regenerate it, bringing it closer to the master's touch.

1. Visual check: Compared to the master, are the sparkle in the eyes and the depth of the wrinkles the same?

2. Immediate regeneration if there is discomfort: Even in a long haul of 40 pieces, I do not compromise and say 'OK'.

3. 'Pass' if it matches: With this, it is finally saved to Google Drive.

Summary: The overwhelming sense of security created by the 'consistency' of 40 pieces

While pursuing efficiency, I do not compromise on identity, which is the 'life' of the character. By dropping an anchor called a 'master image', all 40 pieces started to move with a sense of unity, like members of the same theater troupe.

The pile of rejected work has grown 40 pieces higher, but the survivors are all finished to a point where I can confidently say, 'This is my Mocha!'
