~Northern Cave: Deepest Part~

I have arrived at the deepest part of the cave.

Deep within the vast underground space, a monster lies stretched out.

A giant body more than ten times the size of an adult including its tail, scales shining in pure white, and horns, claws, and fangs that look as if they were made of diamond.

And, beautiful cobalt blue eyes opened wide.

Around its neck, an incredibly beautiful amulet is sparkling and emitting light.

The creature, upon seeing Bright, let out a beautiful soprano roar.

"KYUAAAAAA!!!"

A Shining Dragon has appeared!

Bright: "So this is the true identity of the rumors!"

Luth: "Bright! Raise the 'Sword of Light'!"

Bright: "Understood!"

Luth held the 'Mirror of Light' and Bright held the 'Sword of Light' up to the heavens.

Then, the amulet on the Shining Dragon's neck began to shine intensely in response, and a veil of white light appeared.

The white light quickly covered the giant body of the Shining Dragon.

Bright: "Th-this is...?!"

Luth: "That is the 'Amulet of Light.' It is one of the three sacred treasures of light, alongside the 'Sword of Light' and the 'Mirror of Light.'"

Bright: "What?! Then that dragon is..."

Russ: "It is a human who transformed into a dragon."

The white light gradually begins to subside.

And in the place where the Shining Dragon should have been, a young girl lay collapsed.

Russ: "Luce!"

Russ rushes over to the girl and gently cradles her in his arms.

Luce: "...Fa...ther...?"

Russ: "Oh, oh, I am so glad you are safe...!"

Bright: "Luce...? Could it be... are you..."

Russ: "That is correct. I am your liege, the King of the Luster Kingdom, Russ Lumiere Luster. And this child is my daughter, Princess Luce."

Bright: "What does this mean... why are His Majesty the King and the Princess here..."

Russ: "The evil witch has been resurrected. The evil witch, who should have lost her magical power, hid in the shadows of the Luster Kingdom's founding to accumulate power, and has survived for 130 years. Then, a few days ago, she used forbidden teleportation magic to kidnap Luce without anyone but me noticing."

Bright: "How could such a thing... why did you not order us, your retainers, to search for her?"

Russ: "I was being threatened. She said, 'If you want the princess back, hand over the three sacred treasures of light. If you tell anyone about this, the princess's life is forfeit.' That is why I disguised myself as a scholar and was investigating the northern cave alone."

Bright: "That witch... how despicable...!"

Russ: "However, something unexpected happened. Luce escaped. The 'Mirror of Light' told me so. It said that the 'Amulet of Light' that Luce possesses gave her strength."

Bright: "So you mean she transformed into a dragon because of that power..."

Russ: "That is right. However, it seems that in her dragon form, she had no memory of being human and was lurking in the northern cave. Since the 'Sword of Light' is enshrined in the northern cave, perhaps she felt drawn to it."

Bright: "Could it be that because the three sacred treasures of light were gathered, the Princess was able to return from her dragon form to her human form?"

Russ: "You are sharp, Bright. That is exactly right. The three sacred treasures of light can return all things to their proper form. Though, they will not lend their power unless one possesses all three: a strong body, true wisdom, and a heart of compassion."

Bright: "Then... you mean I was chosen by the 'Sword of Light' because I possessed those three qualities?"

Russ: "I am convinced of it. Well, it is time we returned to the castle. Bright, can I count on you to look after Luce?"

Bright: "Leave it to me."

[Epilogue]

Bright successfully returned Princess Luce to her original form and made it back home.

King Russ immediately ordered the Royal Knights to search for the evil witch.

It seems it was the witch herself who spread the rumors about the northern cave and requested the Royal Knights to subjugate the threat.

The witch was captured and imprisoned within a barrier of light created by the three sacred treasures of light. Her magic will never be restored, and it is only a matter of time before her body withers away.

King Russ praised Bright for his achievement in rescuing Princess Luce, awarded him a medal, and further appointed him as the captain of the princess's guard.

This is the full story of the "Bright's Rescue Mission" that took place in the year 131 of the Luster Calendar.
