[Project] Pokémon Picture Shiritori [Rule Explanation] [Updated 12/13]

This project, for which I started accepting participants yesterday.

I have already received participation requests from eight people (as of the time of writing on 11/19). Thank you very much. They are all women. Thank you. I can't help but think, 'Hey guys! Make sure you participate too!', but I welcome people of all ages and genders.

Now, in order to carry out this project, there are various things that need to be organized.
Yes, the rules. I would like to explain in detail here what rules we will follow for the picture shiritori.

Shiritori Rules

Do not draw a Pokémon that ends with 'n'.

Well, that's obvious. There is a reason I wrote it here. It's because a child of an acquaintance once said 'Charizard' as their first move.

Do not look at a reference when drawing.

It's not fun if you look at a reference.

Looking things up to make the shiritori work is OK! [Updated 11/23]

If you can't think of a Pokémon, or if you don't know (or aren't familiar with) the previous runner's Pokémon, it is OK to look it up.
↓ The 'Pokémon Zukan' is convenient because you can sort it in Japanese alphabetical order.

However, please do not look at it while you are drawing (staring at it right up until the last moment is... well, that's fine).

Do not draw the same Pokémon as someone else.

It's not fun if we allow this. Because it would end up in an infinite loop with 'Girafarig' or 'Cramorant'.

Do not draw letters, numbers, or anything that serves as a hint. [Updated 11/23]

Because it is a 'picture' shiritori.
However, things that are originally part of that Pokémon (such as Kadabra's spoon, Gurdurr's steel beam, Passimian's berry, etc.) are OK.

If a word ends in a long vowel mark (ー), start with the character before it.

・"Starmie" (Sutaamii) -> Start with "mi".

If a word ends in a voiced or semi-voiced sound (like "ba" or "pa"), you don't have to include the dakuten/handakuten when starting the next word!

・"Hoopa" -> You can start with "Pauwau", "Wooloo", or "Tranquill"!

If a word ends in a contracted sound (small "ya", "yu", "yo", etc.), you don't have to include the preceding sound when connecting! [Updated 11/23]

・"Dragonair" (Hakuryuu) -> "Uxie" (Yukushii) is also okay! (Actually, there are no Pokemon that start with "ryu")
・"Growlithe" (Gaadi) -> "Diglett" (Diguda) or "Geodude" (Ishitsubute) are both okay! [Updated 11/23]
・"Abra" (Keeshii) -> Start with "i". [Updated 11/23]

・"Nidoran♀": Nidoran Mesu [Updated 11/23]
・"Nidoran♂": Nidoran Osu [Updated 11/23]
・"Porygon2": Porygon Tsuu [Updated 11/23]
・"Porygon-Z": Porygon Zetto [Updated 11/23]

If you absolutely cannot draw it, pass the baton to Arlon!

There is no need to force yourself to create a new species of Pokemon. Gracefully pass it to Arlon.

Please take your turn again immediately after Arlon.

Handling special Pokemon

Mega Evolved Pokemon, Primal Reversion Pokemon: X (They are treated as their pre-Mega Evolved or pre-Primal Reversion forms respectively) [Updated 11/23]

・"Grotle" (Hayashigame) -> "Mega Venusaur" is invalid.
・"Tentacool" (Menokurage) -> "Primal Kyogre" is invalid. [Updated 11/23]

Regional forms and other variant appearances: No (all are treated as the same Pokémon) [Updated 11/23]

Basically, names in parentheses in the 'Pokémon Pokédex' are not treated as separate entities; all Pokémon with the same name are considered the same Pokémon (you may draw any of them). [11/23]

・Pokémon that change appearance in the Alola, Galar, or Paldea regions: 'Raichu', 'Weezing', 'Wooper', etc.
・Pokémon that change appearance based on habitat, time, etc.: 'Deoxys', 'Burmy', 'Shellos', 'Rotom', 'Deerling', 'Kyurem', etc.
・Pokémon that change appearance based on Ability: 'Cherrim', 'Darmanitan', etc.
・Pokémon that change appearance based on gender: 'Frillish', 'Meowstic', etc.
　*Exception: Nidoran♂ and Nidoran♀ are separate entities.
・'Oddish' → 'Ash-Greninja' is not valid. [Updated 11/23]

Ultra Beasts: Yes

Since they are contained in Poké Balls, they are treated as Pokémon.

Ancient and Future Pokémon: Yes

・'Salamence' and 'Roaring Moon' are separate entities.
・'Tyranitar' and 'Iron Thorns' are separate entities.

Other

Please absolutely refrain from excessive reactions or slander.

Some people are better at drawing than others. However, this is a place to enjoy communication regardless of that. Please do not engage in behavior that hurts others. I will not be held responsible for any trouble that may occur.
