12 Things a Man Who Read Over 200 '#CreativeAward2024' Entries Wants to Share
Greetings, I am Arlon, the unprecedented, super-furious note creator who loves the Creative Award and wants to be loved by it.
Well, on a personal note, back on June 1st, I held a project where I said,
“I will share my thoughts on the note articles you submitted to '#CreativeAward2024' on X!”
I carried out this project.

Regarding this project...
It is all finished!!!!!
Well done me!!!!!
There were 16 entries and a total of 218 articles. It took over two weeks... it was quite a massive volume...
Well, I have kept my word, but since I'm at it, I thought I would write my thoughts on writing these thoughts (a bit complicated, I know).
I believe this content will be educational for both writers and readers, covering things I noticed while reading notes and how I approached writing my feedback.
So, let's get started!
1. Things I noticed while reading notes
There are many people who want their work read
Even though my account only has 34 followers and I only opened the call for entries for two days, I received submissions from 15 people. Moreover, 14 out of the 15 were people I was meeting for the first time.
That just goes to show how much demand there is for note reading.
There is that much demand for note reading, isn't there?
I think there are many people who simply want to say, 'I want you to read this!'
X doesn't have enough characters
In addition to the original 140-character limit, space is further taken up by titles, creator names, hashtags, etc., so it was quite a struggle.
Conversely, it served as training for 'writing impressions with few characters,' so in that sense, the range of expression may have expanded.
It is precisely because there are certain constraints that it leads to growth.
Works with a solid theme are strong
Works where it is clear what the author wants to write have a high level of passion from the author.
I felt that works packed with passion and love naturally have stronger centripetal force.
Demand is important, but I think it is even more important for the author themselves to love their work.
Surprisingly, there are mistakes like typos and omissions
Perhaps it is because I have experience as a web writer, but typos and omissions stood out quite a bit.
From my experience, almost every work had typos or omissions.
It's a waste, so please be sure to check them (I will also review my own work).
Self-editing is of course necessary, but since there is much that can be noticed when others read it like this, I think the need for note readers and companions is high.
Related to this, please follow the application guidelines for the Creative Awards 2024.
I do check for hashtags as a requirement for this note reading, but I don't cover everything (for novels, only the first episode article).
I also don't count the number of characters because it isa hassleto do so.
Please check this yourself once more as well (I will also review my own work).
Let's follow the rules.
2. Things I devised while doing note reading
Never offer criticism or advice
Unless I were a top-tier editor or a bestselling author, I am just an ordinary reader.
Therefore, I made a conscious effort never to offer criticism like 'this part is bad' or advice like 'you should do it this way.'
The goal was simply to find the good points and praise them.
I believe this is important for both the writer and the reader.
I wrote my impressions using as much specific language as possible
Abstract words like 'amazing' or 'wonderful' are hard to convey, aren't they?
So, I tried to write as specifically as possible about how it was amazing or what exactly was wonderful.
I also made an effort to avoid spoilers that only someone who has read the work would understand.
Also, I intentionally avoided using the word 'interesting.' This isn't because the works weren't interesting, but because the standard for what is 'interesting' varies from person to person, making it difficult to convey. Another reason is that if I used the word sometimes and not others, it might be misunderstood as 'the ones where I didn't use it weren't interesting.'
Since these are personal impressions, it would be fine to use 'interesting,' but I focused on making them as easy to understand and relate to as possible.
I categorized my impressions into three main types
I think there are many ways to write impressions.
What I kept in mind were:
Overall impressions (what kind of work it was)
Impressive expressions or developments (what specifically was good)
Personal subjectivity (what I personally liked)
These are the three.
I cannot say for sure that this applies to everything, but I made an effort to ensure it would be understood by third parties as much as possible.
Simplified the rules
This is about the application process, but since it was my first time organizing such a project, I decided to have people 'send the works they want me to read via reply'.
Just using 'likes' would be difficult for me (it takes time to search for Creative Award entries), and if I allowed reposts or DMs, there would be a risk of missing them, so I unified it to replies only, which is easier for both me and the applicants.
By the way, there were some that did not follow the rules, but I completely ignored them (I don't have the energy to deal with that).
I will say it again: follow the rules.
3. Good things about reading notes
Motivation for creation increased
This is exactly it.
As I read through them, it inspired me to think, 'I'm going to write interesting works too!' Also, it was simply fun.
Became a reference for creation
This is exactly it (for the second time).
First, your vocabulary improves. The more genres there are, the more words you encounter. In addition, I felt that encountering genres I hadn't touched much before broadened the range of my expressions.
Also, it was a study in structure. Synopses, hook sentences, and the number of characters per article are all diverse. I realized that I need to think about the method that suits the work, whether it's to make it readable quickly or to have it read thoroughly.
Interactions increased on both note and X
By writing reviews, I was able to interact with the entrants.
I personally consider everyone a comrade-in-arms competing on the battlefield of note, so I'm simply happy to have made these connections!
My follower count also increased by over 30 on note and over 20 on X (though some people aren't directly related to reading note).
Among them, there were even people like Archangels who provided support. Thank you so much...!
Also, speaking of the entry period, there were many people who helped promote by reposting, or supported me with likes and replies.
The official note account and note employees liked my posts, and authors like Nanten Seyama of 'The Cream Yellow Sea and the House with Spring Cabbage' and Rinko Akiya of 'What Nurse Uzuki Sees' reposted them.
There were more people supporting this project than I imagined, and I am filled with both surprise and happiness.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude. Thank you so much!
My respect for note creators has grown stronger
I seriously respect note creators!
Especially while reading the works in the novel category, I thought at various points, 'They must have worked so hard...'
For example, the volume of text (20,000 to 140,000 characters) is simply amazing.
Also, they made efforts to make it easier to read, such as pasting links to the next chapters, and I felt their love for creation.
Some works even included videos, so there were ways to enjoy them other than just reading.
I'll say it again and again, I seriously respect note creators!
In conclusion
I've written about these things quite pretentiously, but as a note creator, I'm still just a fledgling.
As I mentioned earlier, I am neither a skilled editor nor a best-selling author, so I need to grow myself.
The [#CreativeAward2024 Support Project] I carried out for that purpose has definitely leveled me up.
And I believe that the insights and interactions born from reading someone's work will surely enliven this Creative Awards.
This has been a long post, but these are my thoughts after reading through note!
Thank you for reading until the end!
