With the Yen Weakening, Is It Really Okay to Stay the Course?
I was thinking about traveling to Singapore again this year and
was Googling it, but...
Wait, has the Singapore dollar
always been this expensive? 🤔
Haven't you been feeling lately
that the cost of living has gone up?
As you know, the fact that prices are gradually rising
is largely due to
the impact of the weak yen
(inflation is a factor too, but here I'm focusing on the weak yen)
Our income hasn't changed much, yet the cost of living keeps rising.
When that happens, doesn't
this thought suddenly cross your mind?
"If I stay on this path, will I still be satisfied 10 years from now?"
It's not that I'm dissatisfied with my current job,
but somewhere in my heart, I'm looking for a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
"I really want to use my passions to be more useful to society."
"I want to leave something behind under my own name."
Even though you have those thoughts,
are you suppressing them due to busyness or anxiety?
The weak yen is not just a problem of "money."
The fact that the cost of living is rising due to the weak yen is, of course, an economic issue,
but I also believe it is an opportunity to rethink how you work and live.
Will you continue to be passive,
or will you create a future you can choose for yourself?
You don't have to change everything all at once.
By taking a small step,
you will start to believe that you can do it too.
Purpose, social contribution, and being true to yourself—it all starts with action.
In this day and age, there isn't just one way to work.
Things you love, things you're good at, experiences where you've made others happy—
there are so many people who are turning those things into reality.
People with those kinds of aspirations come to me for advice.
Moreover, I feel that those who value the thoughts welling up from within them
are better at creating messages and activities that reach people's hearts
than those who only aim for sales or success.
Those who take action now are the ones who will secure peace of mind for the future.
Social changes like the weak yen and rising prices
might be things we cannot control.
But how you work and how you live are things you can choose for yourself.
10 years from now, the time to create a future where you can say
you're glad you took that step is right now.
