Type-Zero vs. Alphonse Vignette Production Log 1
This is the production process for a vignette of the final scene from the first Patlabor movie, featuring the showdown between Type-Zero and Alphonse. I am using two Moderoid kits.
Production Period 1: 2022/9/22 – 10/10 (approx. 2 weeks)
Production Period 2: 2023/3/29 – 4/11 (approx. 2 weeks)
The reason there are two production periods is that I upgraded the piece after it was once completed.
*A vignette is apparently a small illustration or miniature that looks like a small-scale diorama.
Which scene?
Even when talking about the final scene of the first Patlabor movie, the showdown between Type-Zero and Alphonse, it's hard to decide which part to capture.
In the latter half of the showdown, Alphonse's cockpit is open.
Since I thought it would be difficult to build a cockpit at 1/60 scale for the Moderoid, I chose the initial attack from Type-Zero. Noa (Alphonse) doesn't expect to be attacked, so she is caught off guard.
She hasn't even equipped her revolver yet.
I'm used to Moderoid now lol
I'm used to assembling the Good Smile Moderoid series.

The molded color is grayish, so it's easy to see the difference once it's fully painted.

Starting the modifications!!!
Now that I've considered everything, I'll modify each part.
The part shapes remain the same, but I'll make some small adjustments.
First, to have the chest patrol lights in an open state, I'll carve them out with a bit blade. The patrol lights are made from hobby supplies and plastic plates.

Next, damage expression. Starting with Type-Zero's head. I'll cut off the tip and use brass wire and epoxy putty.

Since the left arm is gone, I'll make a cover for it.
