Title: Can't Stop, Won't Stop

I think everyone has something they just can't stop.

Maybe it's sweets.

Maybe it's shopping.

Maybe it's supporting your favorite idol.

Something that makes you lose track of time before you know it.

I have them too.

I have a lot of them.

Finding a newly opened cafe.

Walking down unfamiliar streets while taking a stroll.

Picking up a book that catches my eye.

And, not being able to stop eating snacks that I started eating with the intention of having "just a little bit."

What's particularly troublesome is the phrase "just for today."

Just for today.

This is dangerous.

It's okay because it's just for today.

I'll eat it because it's just for today.

I'll take a break because it's just for today.

Before I know it, it appears again and again.

It seems "just for today" comes around every single day.

Even so, it's a strange thing; people can't completely give up the things they love.

Actually, maybe we don't have to give them up.

Of course, it's a problem if you go too far.

But life isn't a contest of endurance.

We can do our best because we have things to look forward to.

We can keep walking because there are delicious things to eat.

We can look forward because there are people we want to see.

Thinking about it that way, I don't think "can't stop, won't stop" is entirely a bad thing.

The important thing is probably not being pushed around by it, but how you deal with it.

By the way, I'm thinking it again today.

I'll only have half of the soft-serve ice cream.

I'll make it a small one.

I'll keep it light.

And every time, the result is almost the same.

They say humans are creatures that learn.

That theory might need a little more verification.
