Summarizing the Year

Today, I would like to look back on this past year.

You could say it was the same as always, but perhaps this year felt like things that had been locked away for several years due to the pandemic were finally exploding outward.

In any case, this year became a year where I was able to meet many people in person over a short period of time.

✅ I was able to participate in offline meetups!

This year, there were two offline meetups.

The first was a wonderfully happy meetup where members came to Yamagata.

That person was standing at my parents' house!

Just that alone was heart-stirring, and I was very happy that everyone enjoyed themselves, even in such a remote mountain area.

And, it was amazing to realize that people I had only met online were super kind when we were together, which completely captured my heart.

Then, for the next meetup, I went up to Tokyo, reached out to people I had met online, and was able to meet many of them.

Everyone welcomed me warmly, and since I am unfamiliar with Tokyo, they helped me with directions and setting up where we would meet.

Even though it was the first time meeting in person, we had become such good friends online that it felt incredibly like home, and my trip to Tokyo became a wonderful memory.

✅ New encounters online as well

I am a member of various online salons, and as I tried doing various things in each one, the number of people who recognized me increased significantly.

By now, my name 'Rindark' (Lin☆Dark) is likely much more well-known than my real name.

It has become so ingrained in me that when I am called 'Lin-san!', I automatically recognize that it refers to me.

Perhaps my real-life self and Rindark (Lin☆Dark) have slightly different personalities.

But even so, I believe that meeting people who enjoy my company is a tremendous treasure in my life.

I feel once again that this has been a year surrounded by people I like.

✅ Summary

If I had to represent this year with a single kanji, I think it would be "Meet".

Because of the many offline meetups, I was able to meetso many people.

I really feel like that perfectly describes me this year.

I'll still be me next year, so I look forward to your continued support.
