It's Okay to Cry
Humans are creatures that inevitably experience emotions.
We can express positive emotions like laughter and joy without any hesitation.
However, aren't there many people who suppress feelings like anger and sadness?
But if you don't let out all your emotions, it can lead to mental health issues.
✅ Letting emotions fester
If you don't express your emotions well, they can end up festering.
For example, if you let feelings of anger fester, they turn into resentment.
When you are angry, if you release it, it often disappears quickly.
However, once an emotion has festered into resentment, it is often difficult to resolve, no matter what you do.
We often see on television how people who have been involved in incidents continue to carry those feelings in their hearts for a long time.
If you let your emotions fester like this, there is a risk that they will consume your time.
To prevent that from happening, let's try to release our emotions before they fester.
✅ How to express emotions effectively
So, how should we express emotions like anger and sadness?
It is true that if you just explode with anger, you might hurt someone or cause an incident.
You can express your emotions effectively by changing the way you express them.
For example, if you change the way you express anger, it becomes self-assertion.
Clearly verbalizing and stating that you are angry is not a bad thing.
It is a much better way of expressing yourself than just exploding.
Similarly, sadness also becomes easier to express if you change the way you express it.
It is fine to turn your feelings into songs or poems, and it is also fine to cry your heart out when you are alone.
✅Summary
Boys are often raised being told to hold back their tears.
I was the same way.
That is why I sometimes feel a strange internal brake that prevents me from expressing sadness well.
However, if you bottle up too much sadness, it can fester and lead to depression.
Let's express our emotions honestly.
The only thing to be careful about is how you express them.
