Daily Life Living with Cats

Come to think of it, there have been cats in my house since I was born, so I have almost never lived a life without cats.
Even now, living in a newly built house, I live with three male cats.
Perhaps because they are male cats, something happens every day, so even if I stay cooped up at home, it's nice that I never get bored.

✅ The Shoe-Carrying Incident

The cat considered the eldest son in our house seems to think my wife is his mother, so he follows her wherever she goes.
Perhaps as part of that, he carries shoes from the entryway all the way up to the second floor.
That behavior has become even more pronounced recently, and there was even a time when as many as five shoes had been carried to my wife's room.
Apparently, cats sometimes offer up prey they've caught in that way, so perhaps for the eldest cat, shoes are his prey.

✅ The Chinese Cabbage-Eating Incident

Only the eldest cat and the third son cat love cat grass.
At first glance, they eat it with such enthusiasm that you'd wonder if they were herbivores, and when I buy it from a pet shop, they swarm to eat it.
Among them, the third son cat also loves vegetables, and when I left some Chinese cabbage bought for human consumption in the kitchen, he started eating it with a crunch, looking like he was enjoying it, and quite a bit of it was eaten.
I've lived with cats since I was a child, but that was the first time I'd seen a cat eat Chinese cabbage.

✅ Summary

Keeping a pet, not just a cat, means living with a different species.
When you live with a different species like that, it becomes very important to learn about that species.
It's the same in human relationships; to get along well, you must not neglect the work of getting to know the other person.
Today, too, I intend to cultivate the power to know without diminishing my curiosity.
