Someday, 'See You Later' Never Comes
When people part ways with someone, they often say, 'See you later,' and leave quite casually.
That is only natural, isn't it?
If nothing happens, you will be able to see that person again soon.
However, in life, there are times when you will never be able to see someone again after that.
✅ Actually, you cannot control it
When I think back to my childhood, I was filled with a sense of omnipotence.
As a boy, I felt that if I did it right, I could fly, so I would flap my arms or focus my mind, wondering if I could float through telekinesis.
I remember dreaming of flying through the sky many times because I wanted to do it so badly.
This is not limited to childhood; even as adults, there are many things we convince ourselves we can control.
However, if you observe closely, you will find that things often do not move under your own control.
Even if you feel that you are in control and making things happen, in reality, some trigger is often necessary, and that trigger is what is actually in control.
Meeting someone and parting ways with someone are the same.
It is not your control, but rather the flow of time or your lifestyle.
✅ How to hold your heart
The mindset I ultimately arrived at was to let go.
When you think about it, trying to control things that cannot be controlled without letting go is quite inefficient.
Moreover, it does not go straight; by trying to control it, you end up hurting yourself or losing trust.
I do not think everything is going well for me either, but it is necessary to distinguish between what you can control and what you cannot.
Especially with partings or painful events, in order to escape that pain, you might conversely want to convince yourself that you were in control and that you made it happen.
It is painful to admit that someone has lost interest in you.
However, even if it is painful, facing it squarely and processing your feelings will help you recover faster than denying it and convincing yourself that you were the one who walked away.
If you hide your pain and pretend it didn't happen, you will end up dragging it out forever.
✅Summary
I realized at one point that relationships with people, just like the things we do, have their own seasons, much like vegetables.
When something is past its prime, I try various things to keep it from slipping away, but I have never had that work out well.
I have come to be able to think that it is necessary to understand that it was just the season for that person and to accept it gracefully.
That is precisely why I want to cherish the people I am connected with while it is currently their season, and live each day to the fullest.
