🟦Family of Origin

I was an adult child.

I didn't realize it at the time, but looking back now, my father was an alcoholic who could never stay away from the bottle.

Perhaps because of that lifestyle, there was domestic violence against my mother, and it was a household where we siblings were also subjected to violence.

But at the time, I thought that was a normal family and took it for granted.

That sense of normalcy crumbled when I met my wife.

Seeing my wife joking around with her father, I was shocked to learn that such family relationships existed, and I was able to realize that my own family relationship was abnormal.

🟦Illness made me who I am

Image 4

Growing up in such a family, I was always plagued by the difficulty of living.

The illness that struck me during that time was "Graves' disease".

It is a disease more common in women, but it is a condition where the thyroid gland produces too much hormone, causing symptoms such as tachycardia, excessive sweating, high blood pressure, weight loss despite eating, and tremors in the hands and feet.

It took seven years, but I eventually went into remission and was able to get healthy again.

However, this time, due to the mental strain of overworking, I developed "depression" and "panic disorder". I suffered from illness once again.

Panic disorder, in particular, is a condition I never want to experience again. This state lasted for several years, and I suffered and struggled until I recovered.

However, this experience made me think about how to live my life, and I read many books on the mind and received counseling and therapy.

In this way, I spent years learning how to ease my mind, and I arrived at the way I live comfortably today.

🟦Reason for becoming a working househusband

Image 6

Time passed, I changed jobs, and found work that allowed me to leave on time.

Since our children were small, my wife has worked night shifts, and because her schedule was irregular, I have been in charge of housework and childcare since then.

(I have been doing this since about 2-3 months after my wife's maternity leave ended.)

While changing jobs several times as the children grew, I currently work as a salesperson at a company while also being a househusband. (I am also a graphic designer as a side job.)

Even so, I manage to balance housework, childcare, and work.

Why did I become a househusband?

The answer is because my wife has a passion for her career, and in order to realize her professional dreams, she is currently working away from home far from where we live.

She would only come back on weekends.

For that reason, I became a househusband and started doing the housework and childcare I had been doing before on a full-scale basis.

Furthermore, my parents passed away a long time ago, so I couldn't rely on them, and shortly after I became a househusband, my wife's father also passed away, and her mother's health declined, leaving her in a state where she requires nursing care.

Therefore, on weekdays, I was a super househusband juggling work and housework alone.

🟦Current Life

Image 5

It has been over 10 years since that life began.

Now, our eldest daughter has graduated from high school, and our eldest son has become a middle school student.

The children have grown up quite a bit, so the childcare side of things has become much easier.

My current life is living in a detached house with those two children, my wife's mother (who is certified for nursing care), and three cats.

My wife comes home on her days off on weekends. I feel relieved when the family is finally together at that time.

Currently, my wife's assignment away from home has ended, but since she often has to work on weekends or has a lot of overtime and early shifts, my life as a househusband is still going strong!

🟦Profile Summary

I hope to write words that reach those who are still struggling with how to live, or those who, like me, are suffering from conditions such as adult child syndrome, depression, panic disorder, and Graves' disease, based on what I have learned in my life.

Furthermore, based on my experience as a stay-at-home husband raising children alone, I hope to deliver words that reach those who are currently struggling with solo parenting.
