๐ Write Your Wishes on a Tanabata Strip. โ Tanabata Time Capsule 2025 โ
Hey, I wonder if it's okay to still write down wishes even after becoming an adult.
โI want to be a cake shop owner,โ โI want to be a witch.โ
I remember being surrounded by such strips back in kindergarten.
I'm pretty sure that's when it was.
By the way, apparently this is what I wrote.
โI want to be a dumplingโ
โฆโฆWhy?
Round, soft, and sweet.
Did I want to be someone who brings joy to others?
Or did I just really, truly love dumplings that much?
Anyway, there was a time when I could write such pure wishes.
A lot of time has passed since then.
Thinking that the day will come when my daughter also writes something on a strip makes me feel a bit sentimental.
๐ The wishes I write now
May I become a certified librarian.
May I continue my note membership with double-digit members.
May I become someone people search for as 'Kiki Rin'.
May I continue to write an article introducing one book every month.
May the books I recommend become someone's favorite book.
May I have a life where I can say 'welcome home' every day.
May my daughter, who will be four years old, be happy and healthy.
May I be able to publish a book, whether on Kindle or otherwise.
May my words become a support for someone.
May I be able to smile and say 'it came true' about the wishes I wrote back then.
๐ Even though I am 'alone' for now
By the way, my note membership currently has only one person.
However, I am incredibly saved by the existence of that "one" person.
Because there is someone with me, I can write. I can keep going.
That's why I hope that by next year's Tanabata, I'll be able to count "two," "five," or "ten" people.
No, first, "one more person" would be more than enough to make me happy.
It doesn't have to be a lot.
I hope to maintain a thin but long-lasting connection with people who say "like" to my words.
๐ To my future self
If all my wishes have come true, that would be dramatic in its own way, but
perhaps things might not go that smoothly.
However, if I can think even one of them has "Oh, it came true," that alone is enough.
And I hope that next year, I will be the kind of person who can say,
"It's Tanabata, so shall I write a wish?"
I might even be writing "I want to become a dumpling" again next year (laughs).

A wish quietly entrusted to my future self.
Kotobato-san, thank you for this wonderful project๐
I look forward to it.
Sincerely, Yoshiki
