A Re-introduction | The Challenge of a Thirtysomething Who Became a Freelancer Without Experience

Good evening to those meeting me for the first time, and to those who read my posts regularly. I'm Rin.
Thank you for visiting!

I would like to re-introduce myself.

【Basic Information】
⚫︎ Born in 1994, 30 years old
⚫︎ Residing in Kanagawa Prefecture
⚫︎ Currently a freelance coach and consultant
⚫︎ Debuted as a freelancer during the COVID-19 pandemic
⚫︎ Freelance experience includes website production, online secretarial work, writing, and sales agency services
⚫︎ Corporate job experience includes "receptionist," "public relations," "executive secretary," "school management," "seminar management," and "computer instructor"
⚫︎ Hobbies include traveling, reading, and visiting super sento (public bathhouses)

My Time as a Corporate Employee

I worked as a receptionist at a tourist facility right after graduating from university.
Looking back, it was a "black company" (exploitative workplace) with only 6 days off per month, totaling 72 days a year.
My take-home pay was 150,000 yen.

Even so, it was a job at a place I had always admired,
so I worked there for about three years, motivated by the sense of fulfillment it gave me.

From my second year, a small sense of unease began to grow.

First, I had very little time for myself.
Traveling is my hobby, and I used to go out almost every month, but I would burn through my monthly days off in the blink of an eye.

Also, I wasn't able to spend time with my family.
The final straw was when my pet got sick during our busiest season, and I couldn't be there for its final moments.

Since my pet was a member of the family to me,
I felt helpless and devastated.

With such events piling up, I began to long for a freer way of working where I could have flexibility in time and location.

A turning point came in my second year of working.
The day after I returned from a trip, I got into a single-vehicle accident.

Fortunately, I wasn't injured, but that was when I came to my senses.

"Is it okay to live a life just to work?"

From that point on, I decided to change how I work.

The Challenge of Freelancing

I wanted to work in a way that wasn't tied to a specific location, but
I didn't know where to start.

Having the image that a free way of working equals being a Web designer, I started attending a vocational training school to acquire skills.

I studied recklessly for over 1,000 hours and acquired skills in website production and Web design.

Ultimately, I was able to achieve a monthly income of 500,000 yen through Web-related work.

However, it is basically a job of creating and providing things.
Having originally worked in customer service, I decided to change direction because I wanted to do work that involved more personal interaction.

When I was a budding web freelancer, I also took on sales agency work.

Commissioned by a company running a school business, and because the service was high-ticket, I was able to generate over 1 million yen in sales in one month.

However, I decided to quit this as well because it wasn't a product I could truly believe in from the heart, and I wanted to make work out of something only I could provide.

As a new challenge, I decided to create my own product that supports individuals.

Meeting my coach

Although I wanted to create a service that sold myself, I didn't know where to start.
I thought I should just join a school, so I enrolled in one where I could learn business.

However, I couldn't take the general know-how I learned and apply it to myself in practice.

That was when I met a coach who provided individual accompaniment, and everything changed.

I thought about my own service and started taking action the next day, and within a week, I had gathered clients.

And in the blink of an eye, I stepped up to 100,000 yen, 300,000 yen, and 500,000 yen.

My inner self also grew.
The power to take on new challenges, the power to face clients with all my might, and the power to perceive what is being asked of me.

While learning business, my private relationships also improved.

I was so moved by how much the speed of growth accelerates when you have a coach that I decided to become a coach myself.

A job that can significantly change people's lives is wonderful; I want to guide the lives of those who are stuck and troubled.

I want to share the things I have overcome.

While posting on social media, I held events and accepted requests for advice on worries.

I actually accompanied clients and solved their worries regarding their careers and mindsets.

As a result of facing the clients in front of me and providing the value I could, I was able to reach 500,000 yen in monthly sales within 5 months of starting from scratch, and over 1 million yen in 8 months.

Looking back on my life

Looking back on my life so far, I really think it has been full of ups and downs.

But this was for the best. Because I challenged myself to realize my ideals, waves were created.

If I hadn't challenged myself, things might have been calm, but I wouldn't have grown, and I wouldn't have been able to see new scenery.

In fact, there were many painful times. There were times when I tried to give up on my challenges.

But beyond every mountain I crossed, there were always more enjoyable days waiting for me than before.

That is why I think challenging myself has become a habit.

After all, you become able to do things you couldn't do before, you get to experience things you couldn't experience before, and above all, you become freer and freer.

Isn't life richer when you take on challenges?

Life is a game where you are the protagonist, and the one who enjoys it the most wins♡

My thoughts on sharing my story

The number one thing I want to convey from my experience so far.

It is that "Freedom can definitely be achieved!" If you keep challenging yourself without giving up, it will definitely come true someday.

After all, each and every one of us originally possesses amazing talent. I want you to have confidence in your own abilities.

While we each have things we are not good at, we also have things we are better at than others and things we can work on with passion.

Just as there is a saying about putting the right person in the right place, there is a place for each and every one of us to shine.

To achieve freedom, you need to take on challenges.

For those who are challenging themselves but not succeeding, it is either because you are not taking enough action or you are putting effort into a slightly wrong direction.

It is a huge waste to give up when you are working hard but not seeing results.

Your challenge will give courage to everyone around you.
The more you grow and shine, the more you will influence and brighten the people around you.

And the world will become a brighter place⭐️

I am dreaming of such a future^^

This has been a long post, but the path to becoming a freelancer is not flat, yet it is by no means a steep, thorny road.

If you take steady steps one by one, you will definitely move forward.

I would like to share with you how to achieve freedom from here on out.

Thank you so much for reading until the end!
