[1 year 2 months] Summary of my daughter's growth
Thank you for visiting the page of a science-major mom raising a 3-year-old son who only talks a little and a 1-year-old daughter 😊
Making the family happy with a [harmonious face].
I hope to share some tips on that.
I'm a science-major mom who is feeling a bit relieved this week now that I've finally secured some time where both children are being looked after.
Well then, today I'd like to share a record of my daughter's growth 🐰
My daughter is currently developing typically.
That said, she does have some characteristics like:
☑︎ She doesn't make eye contact easily.
☑︎ She hardly has any stranger anxiety.
☑︎ She is good at playing by herself.
So if she were to be diagnosed with a developmental disability when she turns two,
I wouldn't be surprised at all 😂
I hope to record the differences between my son with a developmental disability and my (currently) typically developing daughter 🌷

How is her walking coming along?
Well, this has been at a standstill (lol).
Now, she is walking steadily.
It's so rare for her to crawl now that I actually think, 'Wow, she's crawling!!' lol
I'm happy, but as a mother, I feel a little sad thinking I won't see her crawling anymore.
Growth in communication
☑︎ She clearly tells me whether she wants food or not.
☑︎ I'm not sure if she's talking or not.
This month, when there is something she wants me to get for her,
👩 I say, 'Give it to me.'
👶 She says 'Ahhh!' while waving her arms with her palms facing up.
She has created her own body language for 'give it to me' like that.
In addition
👶 "...Peek-a-boo!" (with the corresponding gesture)
She suddenly started playing "peek-a-boo" on her own, and
When she meets someone, she bows her head with a shy, awkward posture.
(Everyone who receives this greeting is absolutely charmed.)
She has shown growth in areas like greeting others 👏
In particular, the way her bottom sticks out when she bows is just too cute~~ 🐰🐰🌷 Sometimes she even ends up sitting down on her bottom ☺️
How about her understanding of language?
When my daughter points to Mommy's nose, I ask,
👩 "This is Mommy's nose. Where is [Name]'s nose?"
and she points to her own nose.
I get the impression that she is really starting to understand language quite well.
Since she seems to have understood "nose," "ear," and "cheek," I am currently teaching her "eye" and "mouth" ^^
How about her talking?
She has started pointing at pictures of dogs and saying "woof-woof" 👏
However, I haven't heard her say "man-man-man-man..." (I couldn't tell if it was "Mama" or "manma" [food]) lately.
My son didn't talk for a long time, so I can't imagine how she will grow from here.
As a mother, I am happy about her growth, but also a little anxious.
Things I'm curious about
1. What happened to the self-harming behavior? -> It stopped after she started daycare!
2. Is she doing the "reverse wave"?
As for this month
Self-harming behavior, back again...?
In the first two weeks after moving, I witnessed her banging her head against the wall twice, perhaps due to stress.
I hadn't been able to let her play much because I was busy with city hall visits and nursery school tours, so seeing that broke my heart😭
Graduated from reverse waving!
The ambiguous waving that could be interpreted as either a reverse wave or a normal wave is something she doesn't do anymore!
Sometimes she even says something that sounds like "bye-bye" while waving her palm toward the other person, doing a proper wave🐰
Differences from my son
My daughter shows interest in various things and points at them.
That is precisely why I can teach her words by saying, "This is a so-and-so."
On the other hand, my son didn't point at all when he was one year old, so I realize now that I didn't have opportunities to teach him words like this...
This is called "lack of joint attention," and opportunities to acquire language are born from joint attention.
Watching my daughter grow, I am realizing just how important joint attention is.
This month's hit toys and picture books
🧸Toy section
This month, sticker play was a hit!
When she successfully sticks one on, she says "did it, did it" and claps with a huge smile. Is she too cute?🐰🐰
📕Picture book section
The picture books from "Kodomo Challenge" that my son used when he was 0 years old.
She bows politely to match the situation, claps her hands together for 'itadakimasu' (let's eat), and mimics the motion of 'ah, munch munch'.
She is really enjoying herself ^^
Summary
So, that was a growth record of my daughter during her cutest phase 🐰🌸
My daughter successfully? got through the big event of moving house.
A total of 4 times, 7 hours of paperwork at the ward office, and she accompanied me through it all.
During the long wait times, she seemed happy to be entertained by various people.
When she was grumpy from being hungry and sleepy, she cried loudly enough for everyone on the floor to turn around and assert herself ☺️ (Hahaha... lol)
As a mother, I hope to support her in getting used to her new life as quickly as possible during the next month before she starts at her new nursery school.
Likes, follows, and comments are truly encouraging.
Please do so 🥺
See you next time on Sunday. Let's meet in the usual diary 🤝
Best regards.
