We are a science-oriented family that has been taking the kids to all the fun places near where we currently live before we move.

Well, Sunday is "this week's diary" day.

If I had to give this week a title, it would be
"Award for both of you working hard despite being busy 🏆"

5/12 (Sun)
Daughter, baa baa, pat pat.

The family went to a place like a farm or a zoo!

This was our son's third time. He's already a pro at feeding the animals 👏 My daughter approached the sheep her brother was feeding on her own and gave it a pat.

It was her first time, yet she wasn't scared at all!! Mom was a little surprised. How reliable.

5/13 (Mon)
Daughter, where are your cheeks? Here!

My daughter learned "cheeks" from a picture book! When I ask "Where are your cheeks?", she covers them with both hands. Squish.

Sometimes she misses and covers her nose or mouth, which is just too cute 🥺

5/14 (Tue)
Science-major mom loses her temper for once.

On the way back from toddler class, we didn't have much time, but my son wouldn't move. He wouldn't budge from the toy store in front of the classroom.

Even after we somehow managed to get to the parking lot entrance, he wouldn't move again.

Up until that point, I was able to gently persuade him and wait, but once we got in the car, I couldn't help but say one thing.

"If you're not going to come home like this, I'm not taking you to toddler class anymore!"

I snapped.Right after that, my son fell asleep. He must have been tired. When kids get tired, they get difficult.

I'm sorry, son. You did your best.

5/15 (Wed)
Your hard work was truly wonderful.

A day for child development support. The teacher who picks him up has a slightly unusual way of speaking.

And in this manner, they praise him for everything.

My son also enjoys being praised, and he seems to have more fun here than at his preschool class. Perhaps he gained some confidence, because before bed that day, he took off his pants on his own, sat on the toilet, and successfully peed 👏

I am so, so glad we found a place he enjoys going to!

5/16 (Thu)
Poo-pu? I ku!

On the way home from kindergarten. When I said, 'We're going to the pool today,' my son said, 'Poo-pu? I ku!'

He was able to put his face in the water and came home with lots of circles (marks of success) 👏 He seems to be enjoying swimming, so I really want to let him continue even after we move...!

5/17 (Fri)
My son gets a girlfriend on the parent-child field trip?

On the day of the parent-child field trip, during the first half of the group activities, my son was wandering off here and there on his own.

'This is going to be a living hell today. A public execution.'

Just as I realized this, there was a girl who took a liking to my son and kept trying to hold his hand 💡

My son didn't seem to mind it either. No, actually, he seemed quite into it, and I, his mother, didn't miss the moment he kissed her on the cheek when she turned around 🤭 lol

During the second half of the group activities, he was able to stay with the group successfully by holding hands with that girl 🌟

5/18 (Sat)
My son can drive all by himself!

We went to an amusement park that is a bit far away (and will be even further from where we are moving).

My son challenged himself to ride a motorcycle (mock-up) that 3-year-olds can ride by themselves. He skillfully twisted his right hand to accelerate and handled the steering like a pro 🌟

I'm deeply moved by how much they've grown.

1️⃣My daughter's walking has made a huge leap forward!
I feel like she's been moving around on foot about 80% of the time since around Thursday🌟

2️⃣ My son says he wants to give something to Santa.

We had this conversation that was so cute it made my nose bleed😍

3️⃣ Mother's Day
Mother's Day was the other day, wasn't it?
One day, I had completely forgotten that Mother's Day even existed.

When I went to pick him up at kindergarten, my son came running toward me with an even bigger smile than usual.

“Here.”

This is what he suddenly handed to me, just like that.

As I was feeling overwhelmed with emotion,
my son said, “Thank you.”

It's a treasure for a mother. I'm writing this the day before our parent-child field trip.

Honestly, I really don't want to go to a parent-child field trip. I worry about unnecessary things, like feeling down when comparing him to other kids in the same grade, or wondering if other parents will think it's strange that I'm not good at small talk. Plus, I'm not good at group activities, and it seems like a long bus ride to the next prefecture will be tough. But when he does something like this, it makes me think I have to do my best for my son's sake.

My son, thank you for everything, always.
