Pre-birth memories? What my 3-year-old ASD son told me.
Thank you for visiting the page of a science-loving mom who is currently raising a rapidly talkative 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter😊
Making the family happy with a [Gentle Face].
I've heard that kids around 3 years old sometimes talk about life before they were born. But my child, who doesn't talk much, surely can't do that🤷♀️
That's what I thought. But surprisingly, when he was 3 years and 7 months old, there was a period when he told me about life before he was born. (Now that a month has passed, he doesn't do it at all💦)
I just wanted to remember it. So I am writing this note to record it.
The emotion of being able to hear stories from before he was born.
The emotion of hearing it from my son who didn't speak until just recently.
I wanted to remember this double emotion.
This is just a note to reproduce the sentences my son spoke as faithfully as possible.
My son's story
👦 Daddy, Mommy, married! I, up, saw!
👩 You saw Daddy and Mommy getting married from above?
👦 Yes! Clapped!
👩 Were you celebrating with us? Thank you.
👦 (Nods) Fire truck, elephant came!
👩 A fire truck and an elephant came?
👦 Yeah. Whoosh!
👩 And then you came down?
👦 Ummm, ummmm! (Makes a pained face then suddenly smiles) Mommy, Daddy, thank you!
👩 So that's when you were born? Thank you for being born, too.
Thank you, too.
He told me stories like this once every 2-3 days for about two weeks.
Every time, he was so earnest, with his eyes wide open. “I want to tell you!!” The way he spoke with that extra feeling was very impressive.
The fact that it ended with “Daddy, Mommy, thank you” is truly moving.
From Mommy and Daddy, we just keep saying “Thank you for being born.”
The fire truck part is so emotional.
Furthermore, a “fire truck” appears every time. Out of the many times he told me, the elephant only appeared once. But the fire truck appears every time.
My son's current dream for the future is to become a “fire truck.” Moreover, he says every day, “I’ll become a long fire truck!” meaning “I’ll become a ladder truck!”
Thinking that he wants to become the “fire truck” that bridged his way from the world above to this world,
it makes it even more
emotional.
Well, I'm not sure if he was thinking that deeply when he said it.
I don't want to forget the story my son told me, but I'm sure I will eventually, so I decided to leave it here on note.
Please be kind. (
