[1 year 1 month] Summary of my daughter's growth

Thank you for visiting the page of a science-major mom raising a 3-year-old son who only speaks a little and a 1-year-old daughter 😊

I hope to share some tips on that.

My son is scheduled to start attending child development support from today (I'm writing this on 5/10). I wonder if he'll enjoy it?

Well then, today I'll share my daughter's growth record 🐰
My daughter is currently developing typically.

That said, she has characteristics like:
　☑︎It's hard to make eye contact.
　☑︎She hardly ever experiences stranger anxiety.
　☑︎She is good at playing by herself.
so,

I wouldn't be surprised at all if I were told she has a developmental disability when she turns about 2 years old 😂

I hope to record the differences between my son with a developmental disability and my daughter who is (currently) developing typically 🌷

How is her walking coming along?

Well, this is stagnant (lol).
But, I think the frequency of her walking has increased compared to last month...?

During Golden Week, we played in the water at the park. At that time, we walked a lot holding hands on uneven stone pavement (with water flowing over it).uneven

Since that day, I feel like she hasimproveda little 🐰 Maybe
stimulating the soles of her feetis important...?

Growth in communication

Since turning 1, I've been able tocommunicatewith my daughter much better.

or

and things like that.

She clearly tells me whether she wants to eat or not, which is a huge help. (Though, there are times when she asks for more shortly after saying 'all done'.)

How about talking?

However, I'm not really sure if she's talking or not.

My misheard word awards just keep increasing 😂 I'm absolutely certain my daughter said “yummy” but her dad won't admit it (lol).

Things I'm concerned about

What happened to the self-harming behavior?

Last month, I wrote that my daughter had self-harming behaviors like banging her head against the wall, but she's almost completely stopped doing it!!

I wonder if it's because she started daycare and can play a lot, reducing her stress. I'm so glad she was able to enroll 🥺 I'm truly grateful.

W-w-wait, is that a reverse wave?

My daughter sometimes waves goodbye (though she doesn't do it to her daycare teachers lol), but the direction is a bit tending to face herself.

It could be taken as a reverse wave, or it could be taken as a normal wave.

Hmm... I think, but I'm not worrying about it too much. Still, I want to keep a record, so I'm writing it down.

Differences from my son

The thing I feel most is that at 1 year old, she can communicate simply!!

She raises her hand and answers “Yes!” to simple questions like, “Who wants to take a bath?”, “Should big brother or daughter be washed first?”, or “Do you want milk?”

! It really helps!

My son was able to raise his hand and answer “Yes!” around his 2nd birthday.

When he was 1, I was troubled because he often showed no reaction to my questions.

This month's hit toys and picture books

🧸 Toy Edition

We played outside a lot this month. What she enjoys most is bubbles.

There are many automatic bubble machines sold now, but I heard that traditional bubble wands are better for encouraging my son's speech development, so we love using those in our home.

📕 Picture Book Edition

A buggy book that we can take with us when we go out.

It's the most worn-out book in our house from reading it so much, but it's still going strong 😂

Summary

So, that was the growth record of my cute, cute daughter 🐰🌸

Since after Golden Week, my daughter has been crying her eyes out when going to daycare. When she gets home, she is super clingy to Mommy.

We have a move coming up at the end of this month, and a big turning point awaits us.

I, a science-major mom, want to support her with plenty of love so that she can overcome these changes 🐒🌷
