A promise kept after 10 years. A trip to Atami with friends
Over the weekend, I went on a trip to Atami with 8 people, consisting of 4 couples who are close friends from my eldest daughter's club team🚙
We are a group that gets together 2-3 times a year to chat away.
We had been talking about this for a long time, looking forward to the day when our children grew up and we could go on a trip just as parents‼️
Having said that, we always thought it would be hard to actually make it happen.
Just as we were thinking that, we got a message saying, 'We've already made the reservation, can you make it?'😆
I didn't have any plans, so I replied that I would join☺️
Finally, the day arrived.
The weather forecast was rain☂️
But, the weather doesn't matter at all!
The couple who owns a HiAce was supposed to pick everyone up... but we had to join after dropping off our eldest daughter at her dormitory, as she had come home due to a fever‼️
We wanted to meet up in Atami by lunch, so we left early in the morning... dropped her off at the dorm, and joined the group just after lunch‼️
First, we headed to our accommodation.
We all piled into the HiAce to go get something to eat.
We tried going to a nearby shopping street, but it was people... people... people everywhere.
We decided to head near Atami Station.
After walking for about 20 minutes, we went to a seafood bowl restaurant near the station.
I had the marinated tuna bowl.
It was delicious❤️

After everyone ate their favorite bowls, we went to an arcade near Atami Station.
There were so many souvenir shops‼️
The next day was Father's Day. Since I hadn't sent a Father's Day gift, I decided to send some dried fish on the spot.
I sent them, trusting that the authentic dried fish would surely be delicious🤭
We strolled around and then walked back to the parking lot.
Perhaps thanks to our walking, my husband and I were unfazed by the stairs and the long distance😤
Everyone else was exhausted, but for us, it was a breeze‼️😁
We arrived at the hotel and had some time, so we decided to play table tennis together🏓
Couples match! Men's match! Women's match!
As expected of dads from a sports team.
Even while saying they were tired, it gradually got heated🤭
The moms quickly dedicated themselves to being the photographers😁
Dinner that day was a buffet at the hotel.
Alcohol was also all-you-can-drink🍷🍺
Eating what we liked, drinking what we liked, and chatting made for a fun time😃
After dinner, we went to the hot spring.
There were only two baths, but it was empty, so we had a relaxing bathing time🛀
Our room this time was for 8 people😳
When we arrived, the futons were already laid out, with 6 futons in the large room and 2 in the small room.
Hmm??? What does this mean?
The mom who made the reservation screamed, 'It's not one room!?'🤣
So, we tried to see if we could fit 4 futons in the small room, and although it was tight, we managed to do it, so the small room became the girls' room.
Next time, we'll book two 4-person rooms... said the mom who made the reservation.
The next day, we went to eat Atami Pudding🍮, which the dad with the HiAce said he wanted to try.
But since every Atami Pudding shop was crowded the day before, we decided to go first thing in the morning.
Even though we had just eaten breakfast, we went to the shop early for its 10 AM opening, and we were able to get in right when it opened!
A large pudding for 30 people requires a reservation, but they had a pudding for 7 people, and the dads with a sweet tooth ordered it, of course.
Perhaps because the other dads don't drink much alcohol, everyone enjoyed the pudding.
I had coffee jelly & pudding & ice cream🍨
Even though I don't like coffee, I love coffee jelly🥰
I gobbled it right up.

Next, we went to Izusan Shrine.
It was packed with people, but since it's a power spot, we walked around the Great Camphor Tree to try and extend our lives🤭
Finally, we went to the MOA Museum of Art.
I was the one who wanted to come here.
We came to see the largest kaleidoscope in Japan, but...
We couldn't seem to find the location of the large kaleidoscope.
When we asked the guide, she told us that people who come by bus pass by the large kaleidoscope on their way to the exhibition area, but if you come from the parking lot, you can reach the exhibition area without passing by it.
What......... I didn't know that😱
I finally arrived after going down so many escalators‼️
I'm so moved to be at a place I studied on Instagram so many times🥹
It was so beautiful.

My husband said... it's just a projection on the ceiling... He has no sense of wonder at all😠
And that concludes our itinerary for this trip‼️
About 10 years ago, these were the friends I stayed with many times while accompanying our children.
It was such a nostalgic time.
We promised each other that we would continue to visit many places together!
The journey continues on😁
Let's do our best today too❤️
