ðTo everyone wishing for good health
Hello
I recently made my first visit ð° to a local supermarket in Okinawa and picked up some 'seasonings & ingredients' ð¥³. I'm going to use them to make some 'arrangement dishes'â£ïžðïžðŽ. There are nine in total, from â to âšð€ð«¶. â»Since I get confused easily, I'll be posting them separatelyððªïžðš

ð'Okinawa ⥠Abura Miso (Pork)'
Abura miso (andansu) is a type of Okinawan cuisine made by stir-frying miso with pork fat (lard). It is a type of edible miso paste. Also known as abura miso, anransu, andansu, or andamisu, it is often eaten on top of rice or used as a filling for rice balls. 'Anda' means oil and 'misu' means miso [1]. It is made by stir-frying miso and finely chopped pork fat, seasoned with sugar and sake (awamori). Both miso and pork fat were important preserved foods in Okinawa's hot and humid environment, and andansu served as a kind of staple food that combined the two. Originally a preserved food made in every household, many commercial versions are now sold. Depending on the region, there are also versions of andansu made with seafood such as fish, shellfish, or octopus instead of pork.

It might even be okay without any ingredientsðââð lolð

ãAbura Miso & Tunaã

Rather than making it, I just mixed itð€ lol
ðºI put it on top of shiso leaves and lotus root (boiled)
and served itð¥³

ðºI also tried putting it on crackersð¥³

I think it goes well with everythingâ£ïž
It was very easy & deliciousðð
ðâïžThird dish
ãMiso Soupã

I wonder if people in Okinawa
use 'Abura Miso'
in their miso soup too?
That's what I thought
while making itð€
(Or do they not use it???)
A slightly sweet miso soupð
I like itâ
You can't see it, but
I also added some 'wakame' seaweed just becauseð
The little bits you see
are, I think, pieces of porkðœâ£ïž

As a result
the gyoza wrappers did a great jobâ

ã»No worries if the sauce drips!
ã»Easy to tell when they're done!

Through encountering 'Abura Miso' this time
I realized that
miso in general
can be used in many different dishesðð
As for my 'miso'...
it's been sleeping in the corner of the fridgeð
I need to wake it upâð
Thanks to 'Abura Miso'
the opportunities for 'miso' to shine have expandedð
Thank you so much, 'Abura Miso'ð¥°
