On Cooking a Lot in 2023 as a Cooking Supporter
I did a lot of "cooking" again this year.
(Even though I don't even like it lol)
The number one thing I can do because it's my job is "cooking".
I think most cooking experts do their work with thoughts like "I'm good at cooking," "There's a dish I want to share," or "I want to teach."
However, I am the opposite.
Cooking... I don't like it that much and it's a hassle.
Wouldn't it be fine to eat out for the rest of my life?
But I think I can do it if it comes down to it (← mysterious confidence lol)
But if I don't have to do it, I don't want to.
This is my inner voice.
The reason I made cooking my job despite that is because of these feelings:
"No, no, couldn't I do this more easily?"
"If it's this easy, I'm okay with doing it, and other people can probably do it too."
"Yes! Since I could do it, people like me should definitely be able to do it too."
That is the foundation.
In other words,
"proposals from the side that can't do it"!
Regardless of whether you are good or bad at it, or whether you like it or not,
eating is essential to living.
Contrary to your own skills or feelings,
the reality is that in order to live, you sometimes have to take on the "responsibility" of cooking or having someone else eat what you've made.
But you are all alone in the kitchen.
What should I do? Is this okay? Am I okay????
I think there are many people who make meals every day, every time, while holding onto those thoughts.
I empathize with that frustration and want to support you on my own accord!!!
You are not alone! There are many people all over Japan who are making meals today while carrying the same thoughts!
I want to put my arm around your shoulder and whisper that sweetly in your ear! (← Stop it!)
Because those thoughts and actions also lead to saving and healing "myself."
It is truly for others, but a large part of it is also for myself.
Since 2018, I have been sharing my thoughts in the form of "books."
Of course, I also use the blog I've been keeping for nearly 20 years, this note, and Instagram.

And the voice distribution service Voicy that I started this year is a new communication tool, and it has brought me new enjoyment.
I polish my writing many times.
I take a fair amount of time to read through and write it so that it is easy to read and conveys the message properly (though I mostly write it in one go lol).
Voice is different from that; as I speak, various thoughts emerge and it unfolds like stepping stones, but that might be the raw emotion I really want to convey.
Each tool has its own excellent aspects, and using them to share my message is one of my current joys.
At the end of this post, I will post links to some of the things I share.
I hope you will connect with me starting from something familiar, and that it will help resolve the frustrations you are carrying alone ❤
I sincerely hope that the dishes I have made this year, and all the recipes I have shared so far,
will be there for many people during their "tough" or "troublesome" moments, offering hints and help.
Since it's almost the end of the year, I've put together a photo retrospective.
Thank you for this past year.
I will continue to make "Hey! Look how amazing this is!" type dishes at my own pace next year too (^^♪

Doing nothing special, making do with available ingredients, and saving time are all a given. My true strength lies in home cooking that makes the family go "Oh!!" with delight.
Things I realized precisely because I disliked and struggled with cooking.
That is the "solution I can offer to others" that I am proud of.

Lastly...
They say cooking is love, but you can't be overflowing with love every single day, every single time.
Cooking is a daily routine.
A daily routine with a light touch is the secret to keeping it up.
I want to continue to be a "cooking supporter" who sincerely supports people who can empathize with me through the tool of cooking.
I look forward to your continued support next year!!
