A Udemy course created by an indie game developer has been released!
The Udemy course I created myself has finally been released. With this, I have finally
made my debut as a Udemy instructor!
It hasn't really sunk in yet, but I'm very happy.
Actually, I wanted to share this on note sooner, but since I went to the trouble, I wanted to
improve the quality of the course, so I
took my own Udemy course as a test from scratch, and as resources (like supplementary text), I
added source code and photos of the Inspector window to almost every video
, and it took quite a long time to make those corrections.
So this time, I'll write about promoting my own course and what I actually did to become a Udemy instructor?
What kind of equipment did I use?
I'll try writing about that again.
⭐️Equipment used
🌈The video editing software is Wondershare Filmora. It is
paid software with a one-time purchase, but it can do everything from PC screen recording to video editing and video output, and it has a reputation for being
very easy to operate, so I used this since I had never done video editing before.
🌈Microphone
I didn't buy one in particular. I recorded the video
without connecting anything, so I think it's probably the default one on my PC.
However, you should buy one. Because I didn't buy a microphone, the process of removing noise during video editing was incredibly difficult.
⭐️Procedures, etc.
Here, I've written down in a diary format what I did to become a Udemy instructor, how to create a course
, and so on.
Ultimately, I chose PayPal to receive payments. It seems Payoneer costs 2,000 to 3,000 yen in annual fees. Well, since I went to the trouble of getting a passport, maybe I'll switch to Payoneer?
⭐️What kind of course content did I make?
🌈I made it content about creating a Suika Game-style game using Unity
!
Since Suika Game has been popular lately, I thought many people would want to make it, so I chose this content!
To differentiate it, I have explained the game up to the finishing touches!
Pause screen, double-speed function, SE and BGM, etc.
🌈Yes! From here on is a promotion!
(I worked hard to make this course, so I want to promote it)
I'll skip the details since they are written in the course description.
Who this course is for
⭐️People who have finished setting up the Unity environment and want to make a Watermelon Game
⭐️People who want to study Unity without getting stuck on errors
⭐️People who want to know how to make things like pause screens and double-speed functions
⭐️People who simply want to support Sorapmemo
(I would be incredibly happy if there are any!)
⭐️The biggest feature of the course
A course that fuses blog articles and videos
I have attached supplementary text to every video in the course, in a blog-article style that contains the same content as the video!
Therefore, those who are used to Unity operations can proceed by reading the blog articles, and for parts you don't understand, you can
check the video to learn efficiently!

Of course, there are videos, so even parts you don't understand from the articles can be easily understood by checking the video.
Honestly, as far as I know, there is no other Udemy course that goes this far,
as far as I am aware.
The reason is that it is insanely tedious. Just filming the video yourself and creating a course while explaining it clearly
takes a considerable amount of effort.
Furthermore, from there, I created a new project from scratch for the course I made, and then took photos of every object I created,
noted the order in which the scripts were added, and wrote them into the resources accordingly.

It's tedious just to hear about it.
If I were going to do that, I would rather just make a new course from scratch,
so normal people don't do it.
That is exactly why I did it.
Because it's something no one else is doing, I thought I coulddifferentiate myself, so I went for it.
That's what I thought when I did it.
Honestly, watching all 26 videos, taking screenshots of the inspector for the objects I created and modified, and noting down the order in which I wrote the scripts was
incredibly exhausting.
But, as with Udemy and Unity tutorials, I really wanted the people taking the course tohave fun without getting stuck on errors or similar issues.
It was because of that desire that I was able to do somethingas time-consuming as creating supplementary text for every single video.
Writing only aboutthe good points of the course I madefeels a bit
dishonest, dishonest, so I will alsohonestly write about the bad points.
Since this is my first time making a course, I'm not used to speaking, and there is occasionally some noise in the videos.
After all, this is my first course, so my explanations are sometimes a bit awkward.
Also, Idid my best to remove noise from the videos, but since I didn't record with a proper microphone, some noiseremains.
Well, there are thesebad points, but to compensate for them,
I worked extremely hard to make the supplementary resource text very comprehensive!
And basically, I check every day to see if there are any questions on the Udemy course, thinking, "Are there any questions? I wonder if anyone will buy the course?"
I amchecking, soreplies to questions will be lightning fast. (It's kind of like how I immediately check for comments on the articles I write on note.)
Finally,if you purchase the course from this link, the price is 85% OFF! It is a limited-time offer until 6/18.
I worked very hard to create this course, so I would be happy if someone bought it.
It seems you can't see the supplementary resource text unless you purchase the course, so I will post links to thesupplementary text for the parts of the course that are
publicly available for free.
I think this will give you an idea of what it's like.
