[417 characters] The Face of a Creation
When reading novels or poetry, I find myself wondering what kind of person the author is.
It is strange that I end up imagining not just their personality, but their physical appearance as well.
Even though I know they are not the characters themselves, the time spent picturing them is enjoyable.
And in the end, I inevitably find myself asking Google-sensei.
The first thing I usually find is their appearance, and often it is 'different from what I expected'.
But rarely, there is someone who is 'just as I thought,' and at those times, I give a small fist pump.
If I guess correctly, I am happy, and if I am proven wrong, that in itself is a surprise to savor.
If they are a published author, I can usually figure out what kind of person they are by looking them up.
But note is different. I often read while wondering, 'What kind of person is this?'
Even looking at their profile only shows the outline, and I don't have the energy to track down their social media.
I often hear that a singer's personality comes through in their songs, and a potter's inner self comes through in their work.
So, does the writer themselves seep into their writing as well? Thinking about that feels a little scary, but perhaps that ambiguity is exactly what makes reading so enjoyable.
