My 4-year-old daughter with Down syndrome and... our Golden Week grand adventure at the Anpanman Museum
Did everyone go anywhere for Golden Week?âšïž
As I wrote in my previous post, our family
went back to my parents' home in G Prefectureððš
And the very next dayâ
for some reason, we went to
the "Nagoya Anpanman Museum" in Mie PrefectureâŒïž
...No, seriously,
it's one of those things where you go, "Wait, Nagoya?ð€â"êð€£lol
But those little details don't matter.
To my daughter,
it is alreadyâ
the "Land of Anpanman."
As soon as we arrived and headed to the entrance...
My daughter:
"WoooooâŒïžâŒïžð³âšïž"
Her excitement was at max capacity from the start.
The moment she was switched on,
there was no stopping her.
She runs.
She turns.
She disappears.
And thenâ
Daddy chases after herðââïžðš
This is our family's
"usual opening ceremony"êð€£lolThe schedule for the day looked like thisð
ã»11:45 Parade
ã»14:00 Dance
Alright, a perfect flow.
...Or so it should have been.
The Nagoya Anpanman Museum
doesn't really have much in the way of greetings (like hugs)ðŠ
For my daughter, this was
a bit of an incident.
An "Anpanman you can't touch"
seemed a bit too distant,
and she looked a little bothered(ÂŽã»Ïã»ïœ)
Even soâ
she ran,
played,
and ran again,
with full energy,
spinning around and around.
Howeverâhere is where a problem arose.
Actually, she had a cold that dayðŠ
She hadn't eaten much breakfast either...
Her body's "fuel tank"
was slowly getting closer to empty.
And finallyâ
My daughter:
"I want to eat noodlesð¥º"
It happened.
A request for energy replenishment.
At this time of year, the outdoor tables were almost all fullðŠ
So we headed to the restaurant early.
Honestly...
as parents, this was a huge helpâšïž
(Being able to sit down is a godsend)
Howeverâ
when I checked the time...
Daddy:
"âŠHuh?ð"
The parade was about to start.
And then, an unexpected turn of events. While we were waiting in lineâ
the parade started.
My daughter:
"I want to see it! I want to get closer!"
That feeling explodedð¥
The next momentâ
she escaped.
Mom â continued waiting in line
Dad â started pursuit mission
A complete division of laborêð€£lol
We managed to join the parade.
âŠBut.
My daughter's demeanor was somehow different.
Even though it should have been funâ
she had a slightly different look on her face.
And the next momentâ
she dashed to Mom while cryingðš
Thinking about it later, she probably
thought she would
"do that dance"
she always watches in videos
"together with them."
But in reality, she was just watching.
That gap
seemed to be a big deal for her little heartðŠ
We spent the morning at the restaurant
refueling with noodlesð
Thenâ
My daughter:
"All, done."
âŠHuh?ð
She declared she was going home.
The stay at the Land of Anpanman
was in danger of an unexpectedly short endêð€£lol
Still, we couldn't let it end here.
We went shopping,
played games,
and managed to kill some timeâ
Daddy quietly made a resolution.
"Since we're here, I'll let her see that dance."
While adjusting the timing
and keeping my daughter in a good mood,
I slowly
guided her toward "that time"â
Well then, next time.
Finallyâ
my daughter unleashes her serious dance
âïžðWhat happened inside herat that moment?
And will Daddy
be able to keep up?ð
Look forward to the continuationâšïž
