Make writing freer. Make it more fun.
Hey, let me ask you something.
Have you ever...
thought, "I want to write something"?
But then, right after that, have you ever thought something like this...?
Is there any point in writing this?
Will this be useful to anyone?
I can't write well, maybe I should just give up...
──If that sounds familiar,
this piece is surely meant for you.
Was "writing" always such a stiff, formal thing?
Before we know it,
we are constantly expected to "write well."
• What makes for a compelling piece?
• What is a readable structure?
• How do you make something go viral?
Of course, those things are important.
But still──
Wasn't writing supposed to be more "free" and "fun"?
Even if no one reads it,
even if it isn't polished,
you should have been allowed to pour out even those slightly embarrassing feelings.
I want to write.
So I write.
That alone was actually enough.
The reason you can't write is because you're trying to "do it well."
"I want to write, but I can't."
That's not because you lack the words.
It's just that the "fun" inside you is starting to fade.
For example, you can write a diary,
but your hand suddenly stops when it's for a note.
Why?
Because you're assuming it will be seen,
so you tense up, thinking, "I have to write this correctly."
But you know,
the desire to be read is important, but
more than that, it's okay to prioritize "whether you want to write it."
Rather than the "correct way to write," I want to read "your words."
There is definitely someone out there who thinks that.
If you're thinking, "Is it okay for someone like me to write?"...
Please, go ahead and write.
As long as it is your own words,
it will become a unique piece that no one else can imitate.
For example──
• The vague frustrations you feel daily
• Thoughts you couldn't tell anyone
• A story about being saved by your morning coffee
Any of these might illuminate "someone's tomorrow."
Writing is less about "whether it's good" and more about
"whether it has heart."
It doesn't have to be good.
It doesn't have to be organized.
Instead of "will this be useful to someone?"
let's value "does this reach my own heart?"
Writing is a magic that makes you like yourself a little more.
When you write, strange things happen.
• You might encounter true feelings you hadn't even noticed yourself
• You might gently embrace memories you didn't want to remember
• You might forgive yourself, saying, "You worked really hard"
Writing is a light you cast toward others, and at the same time,
it is a light that gently illuminates your own inner self.
It doesn't matter if it isn't read.
It doesn't matter if it doesn't go viral.
Being able to think, "I'm glad I wrote this,"
first and foremost for yourself.
I think that is where everything begins.
Hey, what will you write today?
You don't need titles or qualifications to write.
You don't need to compare yourself.
You don't need to be tense.
Even if it's just a small realization,
or a feeling that just spilled out,
if you felt like writing it—that is the "word that should be written."
Even if it's just one line today,
why not try writing "your words"?
Lastly, something small, but big.
Thank you to you, who read this far.
If by any chance,
you thought, "Maybe I'll try writing again,"
there is nothing that would make me happier.
To those who were tired of writing.
To those who have just started and lack confidence.
Writing is a "dialogue with yourself," and
it can also become a "gentle gift" that reaches someone's heart someday.
Please, at your own pace.
Cherish your own unique words.
💬 Please let me know your thoughts and feelings in the comments if you'd like.
🫧 If you follow me, we can connect through words again.
📝 I also run a [Membership] where I write on the themes of "words," "heart," and "feelings."
For those who want to keep writing freely and like themselves, why not walk with me, at a relaxed pace?
🌱 Make writing freer. Make it more fun.
──Taking that step, with you.
