Thoughts on reading This Communication until the final chapter
This is a review with mild spoilers for the god-tier manga "This Communication," which reached its final chapter on March 4, 2024.
I am the type of person who believes that things like true love or deep affection do not exist in this world. This is because I believe that no matter how much we talk, listen, and try to understand, there will always be some kind of discrepancy or mismatch between the [love] I am thinking of and the [love] the other person is thinking of. It is impossible for humans to truly understand another person's emotions.
That is precisely why communication is essential to bridge those gaps.
Personally, the effort required for interpersonal communication is immense. I go through my daily social life exhausted, wondering if there is any point to these conversations, ad-libs, flattery, and posturing.
After finishing this story, I feel like dancing with joy, thinking, 'It was all worth it, it wasn't a waste!' It is so satisfying that the world was saved by a series of [misunderstandings]!!! On the flip side, I think it is also saying that the world could end in an instant if one move goes wrong, but in the face of this comedic, refreshing, and beautiful ending, I have nothing to say... Mr. Rokunai is a genius!!
As the title suggests, there are many scenes throughout the manga where Deluha lectures or presses the characters on the importance of communication. I want every terrible boss in the world to read this!!!
Postscript (4/12)
I felt a slight connection between this manga and the lyrics of Hikaru Utada's new song, [Electricity], 'Love is light, love is our essence'... The 'Letter from Einstein to his daughter' is apparently a famous self-help style fake, but I still thought it was a very beautiful piece of writing. It is the kind of words written by someone who believes in the goodness of humanity, like the characters in the movie [Interstellar] said.
Even if it is a lie or a misunderstanding, it moves someone's heart, and that is how the world goes round... I cannot explain it well, but...
I am looking forward to the release of volume 12 on May 2nd.
I am sure an anime adaptation will be announced too (delusional thinking). I wonder if Reina Ueda, Maaya Sakamoto, and Mutsumi Tamura would play the Huntresses... I would love for Hochu Otsuka to be the Director... I cannot imagine Father Yoshinaga or Deluha at all... I wonder who they will be.
.........The biggest obstacle to an anime adaptation is the protagonist, isn't it...
Could you please sell the T-shirts and cups from the all-applicant service? I used up all the luck in my life to win the mug, but it has become a display piece for preservation... I want one for practical use! It is such a tasteful piece of merchandise that it would definitely sell! Also, I would love a local collaboration in Kamikochi...
The image I borrowed is apparently Mt. Yari in winter. It is so beautiful!!! I want to go on a pilgrimage, but Mt. Yari is too life-threatening for an amateur...
I wonder if it was this clear at the very end, too. It is a dreamlike landscape.
