I flopped on the weekend and had three days of no traction. Then, suddenly, a wind blew on note.
They say Saturday is the best day to release a paid article. Believing that rumor, I dropped my best piece at
9 PM on Friday.
The result? ... Three days of almost no traction. Lol
A paid note article, supposed to be a strategic post, but...?
“If the response grows gradually over the following Saturday, maybe someone will buy it...?”
With that faint hope in my heart, I posted my best piece.
...But when I opened the lid, the response remained dead silent.
Views didn't grow, and no likes were added. Is this... game over?
I hadn't realized the “summer vacation wall”
And then, I finally realized.
“Wait... this is a summer vacation weekend.”
My target audience is moms raising children. On weekends, they are at their busiest, and there's no way they have time to look at their phones.
I completely missed the timing for the post...
With that reflection in mind, I immediately wrote an article like “Summer note strategy” —
As expected, that article didn't grow at all when I released it on the weekend. By Monday, there were signs that the response was slowly returning, but it was still quiet.
Well, with this heat, I guess that's expected. You don't really feel like “learning,” do you? I heard Japan broke its record for the highest temperature ever. Lol
Did a wind suddenly blow on Tuesday afternoon?
"Maybe I shouldn't expect any reactions for a while,"
I was starting to think on Tuesday afternoon,
when suddenly, the "wind" started blowing on note.
The way the "likes" were coming in was completely different from those "three days of almost no wind." What is this...?
There is only one thing that comes to mind.
"Tsunami warning.".
July 30th (Wed) 9:40 AM.
A tsunami warning was issued for a wide area along the Pacific coast.
It seems that beaches in the affected areas were closed,
and many people had to change their leisure or work plans.
They must have been busy dealing with it in the morning, but what about the afternoon...?
Could it be that "since real life stopped, everyone came back to their smartphones"?
It somehow made sense.
It might not have been that "not being read = bad," but simply that it "wasn't catching anyone's eye."
You can't decide when the wind will blow.
Of course, you can always put effort into how you present and deliver your work.
Like thinking about the best times to post based on access trends on note.
Using social media to create a "situation where it's easy to be seen" is also important.
But you know,
there is definitely such a thing as the "power of the wind" that you can't control with your own efforts alone.
Summer weekends are predictable "hard-to-read" timings. Conversely, due to natural phenomena,
unexpected "well-read" timings can also occur.
In the end, the final "timing" is decided by "circumstances beyond your control."
That's why I think—
you don't have to blame yourself too much.
Just because the reaction is thin doesn't mean your effort wasn't enough.
This might be what it means to "keep going on note."
You can't decide when the wind will blow.
But that is no reason to stop.
Keep writing.
Keep building it up steadily.
To be ready to catch the wind when it whimsically arrives.
I quietly prepare for that day.
That is what I can do.
Even if there is no reaction, someone is definitely reading.
Finally.
I called these past three days 'windless,' but
it was just that there were few reactions, there were people who were reading it properly.
Even for articles I thought 'no one will read anyway',
you are here now, looking through them like this.
Thank you, truly.
That time gently pushes me forward.
Well then, good night. See you tomorrow.
Thank you for reading until the end 😊
If you 'like' or 'follow' me,
・Are you someone who thinks, 'I'll do my best on note even in the hot summer'?
・Are you someone who ended up with unexpected phone time due to the weather warning?
・Did you resonate with the idea that things aren't read in the summer?
I will interpret it that way and be happy 🤩
