Interpret, and you can move forward.
Entry for "Making a Living Through Planning"...
I somehow don't want to use the phrase "I couldn't do it"...
Why? I wonder. I want to express this result, which I reached after thinking and thinking and thinking, in a way that I like a little more.
By doing so, I want to make sure I never forget it from here on out.
Is "I couldn't do it" really
something I "couldn't do"?
Don't give up on yourself on your own.
Don't judge yourself on your own.
Don't underestimate yourself on your own.
Lately, whenever "I can't" flickers in my mind, I hear my own inner voice along with Mr. Abe's voice asking, "Is that really true?"
There's no need to worry; what I should do now is not blame my uncertain self, nor fall into self-loathing for not being able to take action,
Interpret for your own sake!!
The purpose of writing now. To find my own feelings through interpretation, as if pushing aside the fog standing in my way.
Regret -> Post-interpretation
This is
not about trying to erase feelings of regret through interpretation, but rather imagining a flow where I accept the feelings of regret and then interpret them afterward.
Practicing interpretation while reading through "Maybe that's just your own assumption?"
When an interpretation for myself is born, I would be happy if it eventually leads to a small, new interpretation for someone else.
I'm starting!
I know! I know, okay!But still!!
I am shaken by the part of me that fights back.
I felt a little irritated, asking "Why?"
I was wavering over whether or not to enter the continuous course "Making a Living Through Planning" hosted by copywriter Kotaro Abe.
Try turning the emotions you dislike into characters
Demosa from the Land of Anxiety says,
“You’re already struggling with your current university assignment schedule, so can you really meet the deadlines for both?”
“What about that self-investment in video editing? What are you going to do about that?”
“You talk big, but can you actually do it? Huh?”
These were the main three.
Ugh, what a nasty tone... Yes, the 'Demon-Self' gradually gets aggressive and turns into a sticky, muddy zombie. It often appears late on Wednesday nights.
Try turning your feelings into characters, too.
When I thought, 'Oh no! At this rate, I'm done for!!'
“University assignments? Video editing? Planning? Why not just do them all in parallel! No! You have no choice but to do them! If you want to do it!!”
A motivational mom holding a salted rice ball pats the sticky-muddy zombie on the back.
“Not confident in your own experience? You’re going to build it from here on out!!”
A homemade Shuzo Matsuoka presses a cold CC Lemon against the sticky-muddy zombie's cheek.
Together, they shout, 'Take that!' and shove this article at the zombie.
The zombie turns back into the timid Demon-Self. Demon-Self is crying.
Mom and Shuzo rejoice and shout.
Come on!! Now is your chance (is)!!
.....Me (20 years old) misses the chance.
In that moment, thinking 'Oh no, oh no,' the Demon-Self-Pien turns back into the sticky-muddy version.
It manages to conquer all of me.
Mom and Shuzo are swallowed up, too.....
“““Abe-saaaan!!”””
*What I have just written is the very struggle I faced leading up to the entry deadline.
*It was embarrassing, and if possible, I didn't want anyone to know what was going on inside my brain.
"That might just be a biased assumption, you know?" The theme of "Give names to the people you like and the people you dislike" from Chapter 1, Self Edition.
I tried applying it to the self I like and the self I dislike.
Seeing it this way makes it feel real. When I turn the emotions I dislike into characters, strangely enough, they seem a little cute. I don't know why, but it becomes interesting.
It's like giving shape to the fog in my mind...
Once again, by not just reading but putting it into practice, I feel like I've been able to better grasp what Abe-san wanted to convey.
It's fun!
I haven't written the interpretation part yet, but it's getting a bit long, so I'll stop here...
I was able to write about the content of my struggle in a bright and upbeat way, and even at this point, my mood has changed from before I started writing!
Still a first-year student of interpretation.
I will continue to face it slowly!!
Thank you for reading! 💟
