[Manga Review] Bungo Stray Dogs [Kafka Asagiri / KADOKAWA]

This is a manga recommended to me by a female student who loves reading.

She insisted on introducing it to me, saying, 'I highly recommend this! You really have to read it!'

There was an atmosphere that she would keep pestering me if I didn't read it, so I started reading it with a slightly condescending stance, thinking, 'It's probably just a childish story, right?' However, it was very interesting and betrayed my expectations in a good way.

First of all, the battle scenes are more intense and interesting than those in some shonen battle manga. Furthermore, each character and the supernatural abilities they possess are so unique that you never get bored.

Also, since the character settings are based on real-life literary figures and their works, such as Osamu Dazai (Ability: No Longer Human), Atsushi Nakajima (Ability: Beast Beneath the Moonlight), and Ranpo Edogawa (Ability: Ultra Deduction), I think this is a manga that even those who don't like reading will get hooked on, and even more so if they do.

Additionally, there are unique characters not only among the allies but also among the opposing forces, so it is a manga that can be viewed in various ways depending on the reader's personality.

Among the characters, I like 'ally support glasses characters like Doppo Kunikida' and 'classic villain types like Fitzgerald'.

Also, this work is not only a manga and anime, but I hear a live-action movie is currently being shown as well. I haven't gone to see it, so I don't know the content, but its entertainment value makes it understandable why it would be adapted into various media.

It would be a great shame to avoid this work just because of the art style or because it's based on a light novel, so if you like supernatural battle manga, please check it out. I haven't finished reading all the volumes yet, but it is one of the works I definitely want to read through to the end.

However, as the female student who introduced this work to me also said,

'Those who learn about Kyoka Izumi through manga or anime might think the real person is a lovely and cute girl, but if you Google her, you will be quite shocked by the images you find.'
