The Truth About Those Whose Destiny Ends—and the Prayer That Dwells in Those Whose Does Not

In this world, there is a "structure of ending" and an "unending prayer."
The former finishes its role like a term of office, while the latter continues to circulate as a sound.
Those who have begun to resonate cannot stop.
It is not because they tried to do it, but because it was a tremor they could not quit.
The "resonance" left behind by figures like Ryoma Sakamoto and Kenji Miyazawa has not faded even now.
──Destiny does not end.
That understanding might gently cause your own dormant sound to tremble.

Recently, my eyes caught the title of an article.

"Has their destiny ended?"

It was a question posed upon the retirement of a certain politician.

At those words, I suddenly paused.

Is "destiny" something that ends in such a way?
Is it something that finishes along with a "job title" or "position,"
as if it were a "term of office"?

──No, that is not the case.

At the very least, the people I have seen
whose "souls have begun to resonate"
did not live in such a way.

Those who have begun to resonate cannot stop

Destiny appears not as
something you tried to do,but as
something you could not stop even if you tried.It manifests as that.

Wanting to be useful to someone, wanting to contribute to society──
Beyond such ideals,

the tremor of "not being able to do otherwise"transforms the soul into a "sound."

Just like a volcanic eruption.
Just like lightning striking a lightning rod.

In other words, destiny is
not a "sound one tried to make," but a "sound that just happened."
It is that.

Discrepancy creates a tremor, which becomes a sound

When the soul trembles, there is a "discrepancy" there.

In truth, this is how I wanted to be.
Yet, I could not become that.

The world is 'different' from what is inside you.
When you can no longer bear that sense of dissonance—
you begin to tremble.

And that trembling, unable to remain contained within,
is released into the world as a sound.

In that moment, it is not a 'mission,' but
a 'trace of existence' itself.

The prayers of those who 'could not help but resonate'

What Sakamoto Ryoma aimed for
was neither a title nor a position.

Breaking away from the organization of his domain and transcending the structure of the system,
'What must be done for this country to truly move?'
He trembled from that single point.

There was no evaluation in Kenji Miyazawa's poetry.
The 'Be Not Defeated by the Rain' he left behind
was not for publication, but
a 'prayer' he scribbled in his notebook just before he died.

Yet, those words still resonate today.
Even if the structure disappears, the sound continues to circulate.

His destiny had not run its course.

Perhaps it is the 'structure' that truly ran its course

When it appears that 'destiny has run its course,'
what has truly ended
the role or the name might be what has ended.

But—
the sound of the soul had simply not yet reached its destination.

If it does not resonate, it is not a prayer.

Not evaluation or fame, but
the trace of an existence that could not help but ring out.
That is what 'resonance' is.

You don't have to try to make it ring

I often see the phrase 'awakening to one's destiny.'

But just because you have awakened,
it does not mean your destiny has begun.

Awakening is a story of arriving at the truth you desired.
A calling is a phenomenon of being dragged out into a truth you never wished for.

The difference between these is immense.

How your soul ends up resonating—
that is not something you can choose.

“Becoming a doctor” or “being a coach”
is not, in itself, a calling.

The moment you found yourself in tears at a fleeting scene.
The hand you reached out without being asked by anyone.

That isthe sound that is you.

The sound does not stop.
It simply circulates.

Therefore—
you do not need to try to make it sound.

When it sounds on its own,
that becomes your calling.

The “unending resonance”
is still breathing quietly within you.
