How to Film Piano Performance Videos (Recording for YouTube with Just One Smartphone!)
I am Yuru Piano Kiroku R, and I record piano performance videos using just one smartphone to upload to YouTube and Instagram.
In this article, I will introduce how I film my performance videos for YouTube.
I hope this will be helpful for those who want to film performance videos but don't know how to get started.

◇ Items Used
I do not use any special filming equipment, and I record my videos using only a smartphone and a tripod.
By the way, the smartphone I use is an iPhone 17, and the tripod is this long-type one from Elecom.
I recommend this tripod because it is lightweight, easy to carry, and the angle is easy to adjust, making it very convenient to use.
◇ How to Film Videos
I think it is easier to understand by seeing the actual filming setup rather than just explaining it, so I will post a photo of the setup.
As shown here, I film from a height of about 130cm, with the smartphone tilted slightly downward. (The smartphone zoom remains at 1x.)
Here is a performance video filmed with this angle.
My key focus is adjusting the angle so that unnecessary things (like my face or hair) are not in the frame, and ensuring the keyboard is fully visible from end to end.
◇ How to Edit Videos
I make minor adjustments to the recorded videos using iMovie before uploading them to YouTube.
The adjustments include,
・Change the color tone
・Add fade-in and fade-out effects
・Add the "Thank you~" section that plays at the end of the video
That is all.
I have not made any particular changes to the sound or image quality.
By the way, the thumbnail image was created by taking a screenshot of the video and editing it nicely in "Canva".
