What is the True Identity of the Strongest God, Amenokagaseo?

The main deity of this shrine is Shitorikamitakehazuchinomikoto. The local deity is
Amatsumikaboshi, also known as Amenokagaseo.

"There is an evil god in the heavens."
Futsunushinokami and Takemikazuchinomikoto pacified the demons, plants, and even stones in Takamagahara, but only Amenokagaseo would not submit. Futsunushinokami and Takemikazuchinomikoto said they wanted to subdue this god first before going to pacify Ashihara no Nakatsukuni. Therefore, they dispatched Shitorigami to make him submit. Within the shrine grounds, there is the


"Shukkonseki" (Soul-Binding Stone), which is said to seal the spiritual power of Amenokagaseo.

Although it is called a stone, it seems the entire rocky mountain is the "Shukkonseki."

Now, if there is a shrine here that enshrines Kagaseo, who was in the heavens, does that mean Takamagahara was in Ibaraki?

It seems that is not the case.

This is because there are no old stories or episodes in this region related to Amaterasu Omikami or Takamimusubinokami, the gods of Takamagahara. While the place name "Takamagahara" does exist, reading the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki reveals that Takamagahara was a territory, not a town or village.

The Kashima Jingu in the south of the prefecture, which enshrines Takemikazuchinomikoto, does not seem to be his birthplace either. No traces of a magnificent mansion, which is said to have been built in imitation of Izumo Taisha, have been found, nor are there any legends that such a thing existed.

Around Ibaraki, the conquest force of the Amatsukami—Futsunushinokami, Takemikazuchinomikoto, and Shitorigami—gathered, but isn't the reason for this that the front line between the Yamato Imperial Court and the indigenous people was in this area?

That indigenous dynasty might have been the Land of Hitakami, but I am still uneducated on this and do not know for sure.

There is an interesting sign at the Mikaboshi Kagaseo Shrine.

...Where is "our country"?
Is it the Land of Hitachi, or the Land of Hitakami?
Since he submitted, he can't be the strongest in Japan, right?
Even though the main deity is Shitorigami, the sign is completely on Kagaseo's side (lol).
Perhaps the origin of Omika Shrine is that people in the past, realizing they were of the same ethnic group as the Kagaseo who appears in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, began to worship Kagaseo at the place where they originally worshipped their ancestors.

This is because there were indigenous people here in the past who were not on the side of the Imperial Court, the people of the snake.

As is clear from reading the "Hitachi no Kuni Fudoki,"
Ibaraki is the land of snakes. The
Yato no Kami existed, and Nukahime gave birth to a snake. The Yato no Kami are said to be horned snakes.

And then,

Kagaseo. The old word for "snake" is also "kagashi."
One theory explains that the name Kagaseo comes from an old word for "shining," but that is just one theory. It was likely inferred from his other name, Amatsumikaboshi.

However, what would people at the time associate it with if they only heard the sound?
Wouldn't they associate it with "kagashi," the same as "yamakagashi" (a type of snake), a man of kagashi, or a snake man?
Besides, in folklore, Kagaseo changes his form into a


rock.

Anecdotes of figures who changed their form into rocks or stones remain outside of Japan as well. He, too, was a king of the snake people.


There is a possibility that the true identity of Amenokagaseo is an unexpected person from an unexpected land.
