[My Job Change Interview 6] 4 Companies Experienced in My 30s | Previous Job Episode
Hello. This is Zero-Pichu.
My job change interview series.
Episode 6 is about my previous job.
This is a topic often asked from the second interview onwards, where you talk about work that left a particular impression (or that you put effort into) at your current company.
The key is to explain the episode in a way that allows the interviewer, who has never worked with you before, to visualize the nature of your work.

Interview Flow
First, I will briefly talk about the flow of a mid-career interview.
| 1st Interview
If there are only 1-2 interviews, you might be asked about episodes at this stage, but often these are interviews with the HR department regarding company explanations, commute times, and health status.
| 2nd Interview
This is an interview with the department manager or on-site supervisor. From here, what you have actually done in your work and episodes that left a particular impression will be asked.
| 3rd Interview (Final)
This will be an interview with management, executives, or the president.
The episodes you prepared will be explored in greater depth, so it is a good idea to prepare even more specific stories.
Episodes asked about in interviews
In this question, simply talking about a job that left an impression on you will not suffice as an answer.
By focusing on key points, you will be able to convey a clearer image.
1. What you have done
2. What left an impression on you (or what you put effort into) during that time
3. What you learned from that
4. What it led to as a result
"My episode is about doing XX and connecting it to YY."
Especially with episodes, this is a situation where what you have done so far and how you faced those challenges are being questioned.
If you are not good at explaining things, I think it is best to start with the conclusion.
Episodes in the final interview
As mentioned earlier, final interviews are often conducted by management or the president.
Therefore, you should talk more concretely about the episodes you prepared for the second interview, and you may also be asked about stories of failure or challenges.
| Stories of failure
These should be strictly at a professional level.
It is good if you can talk about what you learned from that failure and how you dealt with it.
| Stories of challenges
The best answer is not always just about the good things.
Challenges I took on but could not realize
This, on the contrary, sparks interest. Companies want to hire those who are new challengers.
Finally
This time, I introduced episodes from my previous job. As is true for all interviews, if you prepare thoroughly in advance, you can basically answer any question.
Problem-solving skills
The ability to judge and face problems calmly.
The ability to involve others and lead to a solution.
I am making it sound difficult, but surprisingly, many people are already doing this in their daily lives.
I think it is a good idea to take a moment to inventory your career and reflect on it.
