[Common Behaviors] Job Changers I've Seen | Work Priorities
Hello. This is Zero-Pichu.
I have experienced changing jobs four times and have seen various job changers.
There are "people who are good at their jobs" in every company, and this is a series introducing the common behaviors of those among them who I thought were particularly amazing.
Job Changers and Long-term Employees
First, as a major premise, let's avoid any misunderstandings.
To begin with, it's not just job changers who are amazing when it comes to work.
You are absolutely right.
It's not something to compare, and I'm not treating them as special either.
However, if there is one difference, it is just thatwe who joined midway have different feelings toward the companythan others.
Think about it.
For people who don't know their way around and have no established relationships to achieve results, it isnot just because they are good at their jobs.
This is common to everyone, not just job changers, so I hope this will be a reference for you in the future.
Work Priorities
This is the most important thing in work.
People who always saybusylike a habit, or people who sayI can't do it now because I'm busy.
Being busy is a very good thing.
I try not to say I'm busy.
In my case, I think that if I get busy, it's because my own planning is poor.
Besides, it has nothing to do with the person being told.
1. Work Planning
Now, to the main topic. I will introduce the common behaviors of the job changers I have seen.
What work will I do today?
When you go to the company, a mountain of work is waiting.
I have to process the immediate tasks no matter what.
Things that must be done today.
Things that can wait until tomorrow.
It is more efficient to organize your daily tasks in the morning.
If tasks are organized, you can respond even if there are other work requests
You can't put new books into a cluttered bookshelf. First, you organize them and arrange the order in which to read them.
By being conscious of this point, you can leave a little space between the books. Tasks are the same.
(2) Sudden Work Requests
Suppose you receive a work request or instruction from your supervisor that is outside of your own tasks.
How much spare capacity you can create on a daily basis
Sometimes it is necessary to reorganize your priorities and make the instructions your top priority.Especially if it comes from a supervisor, it is generally content that should be addressed first without refusal.
Respond immediately, submit immediately. This accumulation leads to evaluations and achievements.
(3) Differences in Direction
For example, suppose a subordinate you instructed submits a document on the day of the deadline or the morning of the day before.
If the submission is early, there is time for revisions, resulting in a high-precision document, but conversely, a document submitted at the last minute might be completely off in direction.
To be able to recover, it is about how quickly you can let go of it from your hands.
It is very common for a document you worked hard to create to be completely off in direction. Early course correction and alignment of direction are essential.
Also, having someone check your progress along the way is not embarrassing at all, and it gives the supervisor who requested it peace of mind by allowing them to confirm the progress.
(4) Share Documents Frequently
Sharing your progress serves as a report of "I have finished up to this point now."
Share the progress of the document at the end of the day.
In the first place, supervisors are not looking for perfection.
If you get stuck or cannot proceed any further even after thinking about it, share it immediately. Seek instructions. This is important.
In Conclusion
This time, I talked about the common points of job changers I have seen regarding work priorities.
It might be thought of as "showing off," but it is just reporting on the actual work.
However, the reason it looks that way is the method of reporting and sharing. And the immediate response, immediate action.
I think their timing in these areas is skillful.
Especially prioritize the instructions of the supervisor who evaluates you above all else.
Since a little bit of awareness can lead to big results, I am quietly rooting for you to utilize these work priorities.
