Liked by a Pigeon
While I was out for a walk, a pigeon landed right in front of me.
Our eyes met, so I gave a slight nod and walked past it.
Curious, I looked back and saw that it was following me.
I ignored it and kept walking for a bit, then looked back again, and sure enough, it was still following me.
I tried walking at a brisk pace.
When I looked back, there was a bit of distance between us.
However, it was still following me.
How long would it keep following me? But I thought if the distance kept growing like this, it would eventually give up.
The moment I thought that,
flap-flap,
it took flight.
And then it landed right behind me.
At first, I thought it was cute that it was following me, but because it kept following me so persistently, I started to get a little scared. It's even scarier when it flies.
I walked even faster than before.
I finally succeeded in shaking it off.
I feel a little regretful, thinking maybe I should have just become friends with it.
I think I'll try to look for it next time I go for a walk.
