Interviewers Notice the Mindset Revealed in Your Words
Regarding the "misalignment" often held by university students about to start job hunting
When I provide job hunting advice, there are questions I am often asked by university students.
"Which job is suited for me❓"
"Will I be able to feel a sense of fulfillment in my work❓"
At first glance, these seem like positive and serious questions.
However, these two questions contain a "misalignment" that causes one to misunderstand the essence of job hunting😑
It is difficult to judge "suitable work" or "fulfillment" before joining a company
In the first place, at a stage where you have no experience working at that company yet,
"Is it suitable?"
"Is it fulfilling?"
It is almost impossible to judge😅
What criteria are used to feel "suitability or unsuitability"?
Often, even the person themselves has not clarified this.
If their experience so far is only part-time student work,
there is even less material to make a judgment😔
"Whether it is suitable" is something that becomes clear while working, and
"fulfillment" is something that gradually grows
as you achieve results or are needed by others🤗
Do not forget that in job hunting, you are in the position of "being hired"
For students, job hunting is an important step in their lives.
That is why I can understand the feeling of wanting to think from one's own perspective.
However, in the selection process, the company is the "side paying the salary,"
and the student is in the "position of being hired."
Once you join the company, you will learn the work while receiving a salary and contribute to the company.
Only when that is established does it become "work."
At a stage where you have not even passed yet,
asking "Is there fulfillment?"
can sometimes be seen by the company as a "misalignment of priorities."
You will fail if you approach interviews as an extension of part-time student work
In interviews for part-time student jobs,
"I can work shifts" or "I will do my best with a smile"
might be sufficient.
However, job hunting is completely different.
"How can I contribute to the company?"
"Why do I want to grow at that company?"
"What kind of attitude do I want to bring to my work?"
Whether you can express these in your own words
becomes a major turning point in the interview.
What is important in job hunting is "thinking in the correct order"
First, think about "what value you can provide to the company,"
and then look at "what kind of fulfillment you want to cultivate while working."
Students who can be conscious of this order are trusted by companies,
and as a result, it becomes easier to encounter work that suits them.
Job hunting is not a place for "searching for conditions," but a place where your "attitude and resolve" are questioned.
If you face it with the correct perspective, it will become the power to open up your future.
Think carefully about your own heart
and let's move forward to your first-choice company!
