Spontaneous Friends
"Spontaneous = Someone who is quick to act"
I don't mean to brag, but I am incredibly spontaneous. I really do act as soon as I think of something.
I can't wait. I hate putting things off. And I have a wide, wide range of interests in people, things, hobbies, studies, and just about everything.
My curiosity never ends, so my mental to-do list is always full.
I suddenly felt like taking a short trip somewhere. In the middle of the night, I messaged a spontaneous friend (I knew it was late, so I made sure it was muted).
"If you're free tomorrow, want to go to [Place]?"
I got a reply right away.
"Sure."
A few hours later, we were already on the Shinkansen (lol).
I love this sense of speed.
What we have in common is:
"There is no time like the present"
"Do fun things as much as you can"
"Life is short, so act before you think"
"Always positive"
"Good at enjoying everything"
"Love new experiences and meeting new people"
We have many things like this in common.
I often tell people, "You should enjoy life. You should do more of what you love."
But
"I want to do [X]. But [X] is the case. So I can't."
"I want to do [X], but I can't take time off work."
"I want to go to [X], but money is..."
There are many people like this.
I can tell that the moment they start making excuses, they have no intention of doing it.
Let me be clear!
You might not be here tomorrow.
You say "next time" or "when I have time," but when is that exactly? How many more years do you think you'll live in good health?
No one knows the future.
By the time you finally get motivated, you might be sick, frail, unable to walk on your own, bedridden, or have lost your physical strength.
Doesn't that sound painful?
Many people work desperately to save money for their old age, but how many more years will you be able to use that money to enjoy yourself? If you're not careful, your healthy lifespan might end before you even get to spend that money.
Your lifespan might be 100, but your healthy lifespan might be 70. Or 60. Or 50.
If you're reading this and feeling panicked, that's you!
Please do what you want to do tomorrow.
Live your life without regrets.
