[Experience Child'Space for free!?] What does a baby model actually do?

Isn't a "baby model" just a model for photos?

When you hear "baby model wanted,"
many people might think of
models for photo studios or advertisements.

However,
the [baby models] for the Child'Space Method
are not models for photo shoots...

What is a Child'Space "baby model"?

During training sessions where we learn about
baby development and how adults interact with babies,

a time to learn by observing
a baby's natural movements and reactions as they are

is what we call a
"baby model" who cooperates with us.

Babies do not need to
"try hard to show us" anything.

Just as they are,

• sleeping

• crying

• moving

• playing

Those very moments
become valuable learning for our students.

There are three ways baby models participate

There are
three main ways for baby models to participate.

I think it is easier to understand the atmosphere
if you look at the photos as well.

1. [Individual] interaction by the instructor

This is a time for the instructor to
engage with one baby and one parent.

(Dads and other family members are also welcome to participate.)

While carefully observing the baby's state,

• How is their body feeling right now?

• What kind of posture would help them feel comfortable?

The instructor will interact with the baby in a way that is gentle and natural.

The adults watching are observing this process as a learning opportunity.

② Group interaction led by an instructor

This is a time for the instructor to observe the overall group of babies, while occasionally focusing on and interacting with individual babies in turn.

The babies are never compared to or evaluated against one another.

This is a time for the babies to learn from each other, and for the adults to learn how to interact with them, which is made possible by the group size of 3-4 pairs.

③ Practical training by students

This is a time for students in the Shelhav instructor training course to interact with babies.

Since we appreciate the cooperation of your precious babies, the students have undergone thorough training before the practical sessions.

Furthermore, there will never be a situation where only the student and the baby model are present.

An instructor or staff member with Shelhav qualifications will always be nearby to watch over the baby and the progress of the training.

If you notice anything, please feel free to speak to a nearby staff member at any time.

On the day, there will be about 30 adults present.

On the day of the baby model session,
there will be a total of about 30 adults including instructors, students, staff, and observers
in the same space.

Some moms might worry,
“Is it okay to have that many people around?”

While the instructor is interacting with the baby,
the others will keep their distance and observe
so that the baby can focus on the interaction.

Also, since the adults in the room are learning about
the
natural movements and reactions of babies and children,
it is perfectly fine if your baby cries
or gets fussy.

That, too, leads to important learning.

We will not make them do anything unreasonable.

We will never do things like:

• movements that do not match the baby's growth and development

• forcing them to continue when they are sleepy or tired

• making them endure when they are crying

We will not do any of these things.

We always observe the baby's condition and

“Let's stop here for today”
“Let's take a break now.”

We always prioritize
that kind of approach.

Regarding the next baby model recruitment

The next baby model recruitment is scheduled for
April 2026.

The training sessions you would assist with are planned for
around May to June 2026.
