The Episode of 'Trimming the Garden Trees'
There is a proper time to prune trees, and
if you cut them at the wrong time,
their growth may suffer, or they might even wither...
Between yesterday and today,
I pruned the pear tree and the Japanese maple.
Because they have been left neglected for so long,
their shapes have become quite unruly,
so I am spending several years designing them into shapes that fit the garden perfectly.
While I was pruning,
my neighbor, who was also pruning their trees,
gave me some camellia buds.
I immediately arranged them in a vase.
It is amazing how some flowers bloom while enduring the cold.
The buds I arranged yesterday are already blooming.
